We couldnt believe we were back in Bangkok and 3months had passed! We arrived after a pretty stressful day travelling from Phuket and were entered our room which seemed like a £300 a night suite compared to the past few months. We had a bed, a couch, dvd player, microwave, kettle and fridge. Luxury or what. It was also within touching distance of the Skytrain which meant we could be anywhere in the City within 10minutes. This time in Bangkok was mainly for shopping for presents for people back home and also enjoy ourselves for Rosaras birthday. I successfully found birthday cakes and she had a day of pampering before a meal at a restaurant she found online. The boat ride to Phi Phi was one of the better ones, the boat wasnt packed and we could sit inside or sunbathe on the deck wherever we liked. As we pulled up to the Port the water was crystal clear and full of fish. We thought as this was the pier it could only get better on the other side of the landsplit where we planned to stay. We searched for a cheap place for ages in Phi Phi and this was one of the only places we have struggled to find something. The accom is really expensive here and the cheapest we found was 400 baht for a dungeon room. It was underneath someone elses room and just had a fan. We got on the boat which took us to Surat Thani mainland Thailand where we had been from the sleeper train from Bangkok and here transferred to a coach heading across to Krabi. It stopped just outside Krabi where we got onto another bus into Krabi town centre. A quick walk around Krabi which was smaller than expected found us a room with Fridge, hot shower, fan and Tv for 400baht so we stayed here. We found that Krabi was a stop off point for everybody going to Railay, Phi Phi and Lanta so we changed our plan and only stayed for 2 nights. We arrived in Ko Tao via boat and jumped in a truck the 10mins or so to Sairee the main beach in Ko Tao. We had booked in a hotel for one night just to find our feet. The hotel was a cheapie and not where we thought, the cheapskates like ourselves obviously get put in the 'mountain view' rooms which are more inland and the mountain view consists of some locals playing cards and chickens running around. We didnt mind, threw our things in and went on the search for a place for the rest of the week. We found a small guesthouse for 500baht with fridge, TV, shower, internet and fan. We left the hotel at 5.20am as we had a lift booked to the airport on the other side of the lake at 5.40. The night before we had paid our bills because we knew we were checking out really early. When we tried to leave though the guy on reception who Rosara woke up must have been grumpy and tried to charge us again, and also tried to charge us for laundry we never had. I wish we did have laundry because my socks were starting to pong and it would of saved this argument. After 15mins of arguing we finally cleared the hotel but were never going to make our lift now so we had to flag a taxi down and rush to the place.
