So here were are ... our first time Down Under We were so excited for this trip that we actually thought that the 26h travel time was very nice and quick. Maybe it was the Qantas airlines that made it so pleasurable or maybe we just already thought of all those things planned for us to do over there ;-) We had an overnight flight to Singapore that went in no time and then 4h to kill at the airport ,which to be honest, with all the shopping, feet massage machines, TV and game rooms, restaurants and botanical gardens were not even enough... We got to Brisbane early in the morning and it was only 15C.... I thought it must be the winter time and for sure it will get better during the day... in ... read more

The Pink City, The Wedding, The Memories We had a pleasure to be invited to the wedding of our friend Supreet and his fiancé Diane....that way we could revisit Jaipur and see what has changed during the 5 year period.... Love Jaipur to pieces and it was very sentimental for me to come back to the place where I lived for 6 months...to be honest not much has changed....maybe a bit more motor rickshaws and more rubbish on the street, some new modern buildings and fewer beggars on the streets.... I was surprised some of the shop keepers recognised me and we had a talk about past ;-) It was so lovely. We did some souvenirs shopping as Jaipur is great for fabrics and stones....but this time I came back home with fewer silver pendants and ... read more

Colombo -> Negombo -> Anuradhapura ->Dambulla ->Polonaruwa -> Sigiriya -> Kandy ->Pinnawala -> Nuwara Eliya ->Ella-> Galle -> Unawatuna Beach -> Hikkaduwa Beach -> Colombo There is only one word I have for Sri Lanka - astonishing.....we did not expect it at all to so fall in love with this place as we were more excited about our 'after trip' visit to India. Maybe that is why we were so positively surprised and amazed by Sri Lankan landscape, hospitality, cuisine, culture and wildlife..... I must admit we did not know much about the culture itself so it was so wonderful to learn all these fantastic stories and imagine the empire at its best.... We all learn about Egypt, Greece, Rome, Inca and China Empires but nothing about Sri Lanka - this made it new and interesting....but ... read more

Scotland By Motorhome in 11 days ...once again because of the holiday allowance constrain we needed to split holidays in two ....as we plan to go to Sri Lanka later this year we had to think of a place that would be full of sights, picturesque scenery and good food - that is how Scotland Idea came up;-) it is also so close from us that it would a shame to visit distant places and not see this amazing land just half day drive time away.... as we usually do, we planned an itinerary full of sights and stops and we decided that the best way to do it is by Campervan ;-) so the plan was: driving to Lake District and then Edinburgh, Stirling, Doune Castle, Cairngorms National Park, Loch Ness, Inverness, Ullapool, Eilean Donan ... read more

6 Day Extension to our Egypt Tour We visited: Aqaba -> Mt Nebu-> Dead Sea (Christmas Lunch at The Spa Resort) -> Petra -> Wadi- Rum Desert ->Agaba So we had so much fun in Egypt and after having rested in Dahab for 4 days part of our tour (10 people out of 60 to be precise) moved to Jordan. We crossed to Agaba by speed boat which was very pleasurable ride if not the fact that the captain and the crew were trying to smuggle some money to Jordan.... After 5 min of taking off another boat approached us and throw a pile of money on board...Why would you do that when each of the shores is so close and police patrols observe everything at all times??? So immediately after Police patrol gave signs to ... read more

Journey to the past Our Itinerary:Cairo, Giza, Saqqara, Aswan, Philea Temple, Kom Ombo Temple, Edfu Temple, Luxor, Karnak, Valley of the Kings and Queens, Dahab, Mount Sinai -> Jordan so as I mentioned this trip was the only one we had booked with a tour operator ever.... reason for that was that we had 20-ish days off and T was going through employer changes (same contract but different boss) and we did not know if we should go or not till the very last moment....it was definitely too late to book anything for ourselves; mostly due to the air fairs; and it was also a X-mas season....originally this trip was supposed to be Island Hoping in Caribbean but did not work out...we could still choose a cruise but we thought it is not really our way ... read more

from the masterpiece of Islamic architecture, through souks and eating sheep brain, 5h camel ride and feeding a desert puppy, to the well deserved beach time Since India always wanted to go to Morocco as it supposed to be similar in a way....the way people behave, the way streets look like etc At least that is what friends told us....relatively close to UK, relatively cheap flights and stay...we said why not lets see.... the major downside of working full time is your holiday allowance and the fact that you cannot just go for long....hence the 10 days we could spare were planned very intensively to see whatever we could in this short time;-) So we visited 5 different places: Casablanca - where we flew just to see The Mosque of King Hessian II, Marrakech - for ... read more

Poland's Underground Cathedral - a Must See on Your Trip to Krakow We went to Krakow for a wedding and we invited our English friends to come and visit Krakow while we are there so that we could take them around. We decided that the Salt Mines is the place for them to see;-) The salt mine was placed in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1978 and it is really spectacular. I went there for the first time when I was in primarily school, but now I know I could not fully appreciate this place back then. It was in use as a mine from the 13th century until 1996. It only ended then because of the drop in the price of salt and because of mine flooding. The mine is over 300 ... read more

Sun worship temple or Healing centre or Huge calendar? Since we arrived to UK Stonehenge was on top of my list of places to visit. Stonehenge is probably the most important prehistoric monument in the whole of Britain and there are not that many people that have never heard about it. It stands as a timeless monument to the people who built it. Question is who built it and how?? The Stonehenge that we see today is the final stage but it was built in 4 stages apparently. When we walked around with our audio guides we learnt that large earthwork or Henge was probably built around 3000 BC. That is long time ago ;-) Excavations have revealed cremated human bones in some of the chalk filling, but the holes themselves were probably made, not for ... read more
