The Pink City, The Wedding, The Memories
We had a pleasure to be invited to the wedding of our friend Supreet and his fiancé Diane....that way we could revisit Jaipur and see what has changed during the 5 year period....
Love Jaipur to pieces and it was very sentimental for me to come back to the place where I lived for 6 months...to be honest not much has changed....maybe a bit more motor rickshaws and more rubbish on the street, some new modern buildings and fewer beggars on the streets.... I was surprised some of the shop keepers recognised me and we had a talk about past ;-) It was so lovely. We did some souvenirs shopping as Jaipur is great for fabrics and stones....but this time I came back home with fewer silver pendants and rings hahhah
The wedding was in Pushkar and it happened to be The Camel Festival so very crowded and great;-) we did not have much time over there but the ceremony itself was new to us and we really enjoyed every minute of it. We stayed in the Pearl Palace Hotel that we had visited before and I must strongly recommend this
place to everybody. Amazing decor, great service and a cosy roof top restaurant with a very broad selection of traditional dishes. I was surprised that climate has changed a bit. Last time we were over there, there was not a single drop of rain since beg of October till when I left in March and now it was cloudy and was raining few times. Overall Jaipur is great and we will definitely go there again ;-) It feels like home to us....
On the way back we took the standard (not Delux) bus to Delhi as from my experience the time of journey is not much different and we only paid like 300RS together instead of 500Rs each;-) It was very crowded and they made sure they filled in each and single seat so we had troubles with keeping our luggage close to us. Additionally it started to rain and I was sitting next to the window that was impossible to close....great finish to our amazing trip hahh At the same time I started to feel a bit sick and a scary thought passed through my mind - what options do I really have if I need to use
a toilet??? Basically NONE. There is only one stop on the way to Delhi and it might be 3 or 4h from departure depending on how fast the bus goes....So even though I love India this 6h on the bus was a bit too much for me hahha People staring at me, water pouring on my back, upset stomach and a thought of missing the plane as we got flat tire in the same time hahha Driver tried to change it on the way but they could not find any matching tyre so we managed to actually get to Delhi with no changes;-) So happy, although my stomach issues continued for the next 30h or so....
