Who has power, and how do those in power interact with their people? http://library.thinkquest.org/J0112187/italy_government.htm In the year 1946, Italy changed their government from a Monarchy, that was ruled by a king, to a government that is lead by a president. The president was elected for a 7 year term. What is different about this government is that Italy does not have a vice president. Italy's Prime Minister decides the national policy and he is the most important person. Italy's chamber of deputies has 630 members that are all elected upon. I learned that in Italy their government is pretty fair. Everything is voted upon, so it is probably a very peaceful place. The people in power allow for the country to be structured and controlled.
