Wednesday 17th arrive Auckland New Zealand Another night sleep missed and behind me I arrived in Auckland. Waiting for me was my dear friend Martin whom I have not seen for 18 months. I was so pleased to see him at 5-30 Picked up by Martin at 05-30 in the morning. Although tired I was buzzing another great new City and Country to explore. Martin is very proud of his Country and was eager to show me the sites. As it was early it was easy to get around and see the Coty quite quickly and this was a fantastic sight as the sun came up. Auckland is situated on a small land mass that is surrounded by water and at the same time is surrounded by several hills. We drove to the hills for the ... read more

My last day in Perth was one I will never forget. My Uncle Liam and I spent some really great quality time together, his sense of Humour is so much like mine we joked and had a good laugh at the Wildlife Park seeing the Koala, feeding the Kangaroos & had a cuddle with a most impressive Wombat! Sadly Auntie Kala was unable to join us as the walk around the park would have been too much for her. We took a slow scenic rout to the airport where we had some lunch and said our good byes. I felt very sad to leave them both and I promised that I would return. There is no doubt about that I will. Australia is a fantastic Country and there is so much to see. ... read more

Monday An overcast day warm and breezy, a good day for the beach I ask Kala to drop me at Whitfords beach. The beaches here just seem to go on for miles and miles they are clean and the Ocean is warm. You have to be very careful, as the currents are very strong so I will only swim between the flags on the beach where the beach is patrolled by the Surf Lifesavers. I spend the afternoon alone on the beach just thinking walking and reading, oh and singing along to my I-Pod. Pure heaven. The wind got up (called the Fremantle Doctor)so I decided to walk up the coast I must have got carried away because I had the most delightful walk all the way to Burns Beach. That’s quite away apparently. In the ... read more

Spent most of the early Morning sorting out my blog its not taking too much time but the problem seems to be the speed of the internet connection, it seems so slow to what I am used to. Went to Visit my Cousin Francis who I have met before but the last time was so long ago in Ireland, She tells us that she is very happy and things in her life are sorted now. She has met a new partner and Aborigine called Keith; he is a lovely man we stay for tea and cake and catch up on old times. Typically in true Irish fashion my Uncle Liam has not seen her for some time either so my arriving has made them get together to. We leave after a few hours and travel a ... read more

Saturday Started with a Barbie Breakfast outside as the temperature was set to reach 38 today, Jason is really nifty on the Barbie and cooked up a mean breakfast of Pancakes eggs and Bacon, a great start to the day. Today was one that I had been waiting for a long time I was going to meet for the first time my Uncle Liam and Auntie Kala, Jason drove me the 15Km North to Butler where they live. I rang the bell and it was amazing the likeness of My Uncle and my Father. I felt like I have known them all my life. The conversation flowed and it seemed that we would never stop asking questions of each other. It was decided that Uncle Liam would take me on a walkabout tour of Fremantle and ... read more

Friday was a really sunny day and such a pleasant breeze too. This was a day for sitting on the Beach and soaking up the rays. We set off to Mullaloo Beach early in the morning as the sun get so strong later in the day and you need to be in the shade by midday. The Indian Ocean was so warm and great to swim in. I remember swimming in it before, in the Maldives and how it is so much more buoyant than any other sea or ocean I have ever been in. Its something to do with the salt content I am told. After building a few sandcastles and drinking a few coffee’s we set of to Hillary’s Marina for Lunch. I left Janet and the girls on the beach and I went ... read more

Thursday was an overcast day and was a day we thought ought to be used to better ourselves. Janet, Lily and I travelled up the Swan Valley to sample all wonderful wines that are mad in this region, found quite a few I liked, but sadly as in South Africa; the cost of getting it home is ridiculous and its not worth it. Had a fabulous lunch at a Café within one of the wineries then Janet dropped me off at the station where I caught the train into Perth once again so that I could explore the city some more. ... read more

Tuesday Jason picked me up from the Airport and drove me around a little so that I could get my bearings. Janet and Jason have beautiful home about 5km north of the City of Perth in a place called Woodvale. They have made me very welcome and I am enjoying their relaxed way of life and love spending some time with their two effervesant little girls Wednesday Had a great day with Cousin Janet Lily and Ellie-Rose. Had to do the thing that all English people find the need to do as soon as they get here, find the Kangaroos. Believe it or not we found some in the cemetery, it was good to get up close and personal and to see them just hopping around just like Skippy did on TV. We then travelled along ... read more

Arrived early in the morning and the temperature was 29 degrees. It was very humid, I was not particularly rested, as I had had to sit next to a rather large man on the flight and as he spilled ver into my seat I was un able to sit comfortably. I am amazed at how this section of the journey has affected me, I have lost sleep before, but never with loosing hours of the night time as well it has made the effect much worse. My instinct was to sleep once I was settled into my hotel, but the conflict in my brain was to get out there and see what there is to see. The tiredness won in the end and I settled down for an hour or two’s sleep. At Noon I stepped ... read more

I am sitting in my hotel room in Jo'burg I flew up here today in order to get my connecting flight tomorrow to Singapore, Very sad I had to say goodbye to James earlier; as he went off back to London to go back to work (Whats That?) I guess it will feel a bit strange being on my own now for a while but it wont be for long. I am so excited about getting to Singapore and then onto Australia to see Family. The weather today in Cape Town was not so good can you belive it ? it was grey skies and Raining. but it was still 30 degrees, a bit uncomfortable; so it seemed easy to leave, I had a good flight to Jo'burg it was just two hours and the sun ... read more
