I'm sorry that you struggled to get around, I didn't find it that difficult but I was there many years ago. Perhaps things have changed drastically. Good advice though! Cuba just doesn't run like the rest of the world.

Back in Time We went to Cuba two or three years ago and really enjoyed it so thanks for the memories. Glad you got there before big changes occur. The architecture is amazing

But I can still answer your question. Rum is popular in Cuba, rum is actually more available then water, but as far as we know not used as medicine. But in other cultures alcohol is used medicine. In Russia they have been known to use Vodka as medicine against all kinds of things. /Ake
