We got a sleep-in today, didn't get up until 9:30, got ready and had a walked round CHIJMES, this restaurant.bar.shops complex across the road from our hotel. It was very quiet so we proceeded to the Blackbird Cafe for Brunch as they don't open until 11:00am.
Breakfast was toast, eggs and baked beans.. All cold, and no milk for my English tea. It was still edible though as we were starving by that time.
After brunch we made our way to Little Johns for our snail cream and then then met up with Linda and Jim (they are friends of Bec). We had a quick chat with them before making our way out and to the Bugis Centre to try and find an internet cafe.. Not an easy task. From there we were sent in the direction of another mall where we were directed somewhere else. Finally we got there. We fixed up our booking, checked-in for our flight home tomorrow and printed our boarding passes. Set.
Then we walked back to the hotel, changed into swimmers and sat by
the pool. I drifted off to sleep for a little bit before we decided to have showers as we wanted to leave the hotel by 5:00pm.
We walked to the station and jumped on the train. Just before the first stop I thought I'd check on the map to see how many stops before we have to get off. It was at that point I realised we were on the wrong train. We jumped off at that stop and decided just to walk it instead, why not, we've walked every where else!
We walked past the Singapore Flyer, over the bridge and into the Marina Bay Hotel. We were trying to find the footbridge across to the Gardens by the Bay but gave up and went into the casino.
I put in $5 on a 2c machine and walked away with $22.72.. Pretty happy.
After the casino (and our free hot Milo in the casino) it was time for the Singapore Flyer so we walked back over there. We were meeting up with Jim and Linda and Gareth at 7:00pm and got there at the same time.
We jumped in our capsule and for the next 45mins we went around
getting a birds eye view of Singapore City.
We jumped off that and made our way back to the South Coast restaurant for dinner where again I had my 'Aloha Lah' cocktail and my 5-0 pizza. Amazing.
Jim and Linda watched the lights show before we decided we'd head up to Skypark.
It was a very cool view from the Skypark. I got some good photos then it was home time. Well we jumped on 3 trains to get back to Jim and Linda's hotel because Linda had got me some stuff duty free. Then we checked out the Mustafa Centre before we realised we didn't want to be there. So we decided to walk through Little India back to the hotel. We discovered little India after dark is okay, but Little India after midnight is not okay. It's not like we were scared, we just felt a little uneasy. So quickly through we walked.
We made it back to the hotel by about 2:00am where we proceeded to half pack our bags and have a relax. Then it was officially bed time.
