Saturday we went to a Gaidai Party in Osaka City. It starts late at night, and from Minoo, if you go to Osaka, expect that you'll be staying all night in the city, since the subway closes at 12.We got over the party at around 2 am and because it was really cold, we decided to camp out in a convenience store. The people who left the party were me, Crystal, Travis, Sophie, Viviane, Shelly and Philip. After getting supplies from the convenie, we went to this building in construction with a stair case, we hanged out on the staircase and told stories etc. We saw a parking rope at the side of the street and decided to use it for playing skipping rope and this game, i forgot the name, limbo rock?, when you bend ... read more

Friday June 23rd I woke up relatively early in the morning and headed to the shower, which are outside the building on a sort of balcony. We then went outside to buy water as we were both really thirsty. It took a while to find a place open and on the way back we found a nice fruit stand. I bought an orange (2MOP, or 0.25$) and Richard bought bananas and mango from a cool little old lady who pointed at our bottle of water, then her cold drink refrigiratore and said: tomorrow tomorrow! Too bad I'm not staying in Macau because I like sympathetic store (or fruit stand) owner and I would have definately gone back. We ate our fruit in the room and then Richard departed for the border and then Guangzhou. He is ... read more

First humid contact (Day 1) Arrived late last night in Manila. Things have changed a lot at the airport since I was here in 1998. For one, customs was a lot more organized and seemed a bit like entering Japan. And now they keep the awaiting guests in an area far from the taxi's. Well, I walked away from the airport a bit and met a policeman. It was late, after 11pm. The streets were pretty empty. He flagged down a taxi, but since I was going nearby the driver didn't want to drive me. Well, the cop flagged down another taxi, and by this time the first driver came back and said "ok, I'll take you." He started off but wouldn't turn on his meter. I heard that at a late hour like this you ... read more

Hey Charmaine. When I wrote that I was simply posting my impressions. You have to understand that we both come from very different places and have very different experiences. In no way am I saying that Cebu is a bad place or anything of the sort. I was simply expressing my reaction to my experience. In the area that I was located it was the "ghettot". Every experience I have is amazing and I dont want you to think that I dont appreciatte it. Im sorry you took my blog the wrong way. ... read more

What up all.. Im back in Manila for about an hour and I only have few minutes to write this. Im in an internet cafe with a bunch of Manila geeks. All these kids are gaming all around me like a bunch of dorks. Anyway I am about to go on a 9 hour overnight bus ride to see some rice terraces. Today we hiked up a volcano that is still active and blew its top in 1999. That was surreal. The night before we hit up a club and saw a real tight band with some local guys we met in Laguna Province which is just south of Manila. Me and my buddy Dan found some of these guys when we were wandering around lookin for something to do. We bought beer at this little ... read more

Hey all just got to the Philippines Saturday safe and well. Plane ride was hell, sat next to the fattest man on board for 15 hours from LA to Hong Kong. Saturday night was a good time we all went out and hit up a few bars met a lot of cool people. We went to this place called the Hobbit House that had 30 midgets working and didn't hire normal size folk. Right now were in Manila and we have been staying at a hotel called Malate Pensionne, its really neat and everything is real antique in the hotel. This city is so wild. Everyone tries to sell you stuff like fake rolex and little kids beg for money. I have never been anywhere that is so wild in my life. Life here is so ... read more

In late April 2006, I had some days off work on our national holiday. The rice terraces in Banaue, which are a world heritage site, attracted me to go there and see them in reality. However, after searching information, I realized that there was only night bus traveling between Manila and Banaue. If I got that bus, I would be back in Manila at 2:00am. Leng, a Filipina friend, said that she was willing to go the bus station and pick me up at night. I was very touched by her kindness, but for the safety reason, I decided to stay in Manila. Also, I didn't want my holiday to be a mission, running around from A to B. Through a Chinese friend, I got the address of Friendly Guest House in Manila and booked my ... read more

Tuesday Michael was supposed to leave for Australia, we had to be at the airport by 6.40pm so left the house at around 5.50pm. When we arrived at the airport we were told that his Qantas flight (QF20) had been cancelled, to make matters worse there wasn't one Qantas representative at the airport to provide details. We had no choice but to leave, in any case cousin Junee had invited us to dinner at a Vietnamese reataurant in Quezon City. After a tasty meal we went to a bar called Ratsky to listen to some live music and consume a few San Mig drafts. The band playing had a real showman as the main singer, he also had lot's of jokes though some were in Tagalog. There were quite a few people from other countries in ... read more
