Day 2 in Bohol! Time to meet the dolphins down at Pamilacan Island! Rob and I arranged (well, I mostly did the actual arranging) for a boat trip to play with the dolphins with the Baclayon Island Hopping, Dolphin and Whale Watching. They’re a travel and tours company that arranges trips with the locals of the island. They hire experienced boatmen and spotters from the island who used to hunt the whales and the dolphins. Since it is now illegal to do so, they are now using their hunting skills in spotting them for tourists. We woke up around 430ish to get ourselves ready since our ride was scheduled to arrive around 530am. Breakfast was part of our hotel package from Palakbayan, so we trotted to the restaurant and ate a so-so meal while waiting for ... read more

For weeks, I have mapped out the entire vacation for Rob and I. After weeks of intensive researching, making inquiries and reserving, at last, we have arrived! It's day one today. We left Manila around 8am and arrived at Tagbilaran after an hour and a half plane ride. I swear, looking down into the islands of the country, with the lush green and blue sea, uniquely shaped islands and the cloud formation is one of a kind! Seeing the islands from the heavens are a lot more enchanting than seeing them on land. As we neared the island and began landing, and as the plane circled around, you can see Panglao Island's white beach and the contrast of the blue and green in it's waters. I was so excited... so excited I was clapping my hands ... read more

Feb 20-21, 2004 From Cebu, we took a side-trip to its neighbor island, Bohol. From Cebu Pier, we took a ferry boat ride to Tubigon, Bohol. From there, we rode a van to the town of Carmen, then we hired a habal-habal (motorcycle) to tour around Bohol's scenic places. Due to time constraints, we didn't have the chance to go to Panglao Island. We'll definitely go back there sometime. My friend Dan and I decided to make the quick journey over to the Philippines for our Chinese New Year holiday in January. We wanted to trek somewhere there weren't many tourists. We found a great spot on Bohol Province, called Panglao Island. Dan just arrived in Asia about 2 weeks prior to this trip. I had been living in Taiwan for about 1 1/2 years prior to this trip. If you ever get the chance to go to the Philippines, I highly suggest it. There is some great scenery and there are wonderful people everywhere. The Bohol area is especially beautiful and boasts some of the coolest sights such as the Chocolate Hills and the Loboc River. I will let my pics speak for themselves. Each day and night was a crazy adventure and we ... read more

We planned the travel to Bohol, Philippines prior to the GACPA Convention held in Cebu City in 2001. Bohol is just a 2hr-fast-craft ride from Cebu City. It is an fascinating island with full of natural resources. There, I first saw the smallest monkey in the world- the tarsier. The uniformly crafted chocolate mountains are very amasing. Thousands of them scattered around Carmen, Bohol. A friend of ours was the host.. the best treat! We were able to save a lot. The man-made white beach was also beautiful. It has luxurious resort-hotel rooms/cottages where you can live like a prince/princess. ... read more
