When I arrived in Amritsar Junction, it was already dark and quiet. The train station seems to be almost falling asleep. I got into a tuktuk and asked driver to take me to the temple. I had almost thirty minutes to reach the main entrance. The Golden Temple is a beautiful place on earth specially when the temple is having its all the lights on. I have to admit that I had a strange feeling in my mind when I began to step into the premises but having noticed such a lovely welcoming atmosphere like no other religious place of worship I've been to, I felt comfortable and safe. Nepal was amazing. sorry for the communications blackout everybody...i've lost my phone -which was broken anyway..and nepal has no signal..also std rates there (phone booths not sexual diseases!) are way higher than India the same is true with net :( Nepal seems to be a country untouched by the vices of the modern world. Kathmandu is the most populated and busy city and although it is large and spread out it is nowhere near as busy, populated and polluted as Dehli. I met up with Tom another gap, quiet, funny from Kent as it turns out and thouroughly nice bloke who also had a desire to visit Nepal. die situation wurde immer angespannter, der streik immer laenger und keiner wusste wie es weiter geht. klar war: NICHT MIT DEM BUS! es musste irgendwas passierten, denn die lebensmittel wurden immer knapper und gar nichts bewegte sich mehr im staate nepal. also haben wir uns spontan fahrraeder gekauft auf zu neuen ufern mit eigenem fortbewegungsmitteln. nach kompliziertem organisieren von flickzeug zu hohen streikpreisen ging es, mit blick zureuck auf die schneeweisen gipfel der himalayakette, frueh am morgen los. was eine super idee und ein einmaliges perfektes erlebnis! zwar ging es die erste zeit eher berg auf, aber klar war es geht auch wieder runter und sowieso liegt die grenze weiter unten. also schoben wir tapfer die serpentinen hoch. die strasse frei fuer uns. wie wahnsinnig ein land ohne jegliches verkehrmittel ist. nur die geraeusche der natur ... read more
