Flights out of Nepal

So I'm traveling to Nepal in august on a small budget, and I'm trying to keep my travel expenses to a minimum. I'm currently living in Shanghai, and I'm an American so I can't go through Tibet to get to Nepal by myself. I was thinking of buying a one way ticket into Nepal online, elong.com or travelzen.com probably, and then buying myself a return ticket when I get to Nepal.
Is this at all a reliable plan? Has anyone bought tickets out of Nepal before, would the cost be cheaper? In China, this is the time of year when ticket prices are more expensive because more people are traveling. Are the Nepalese as capitalistic as the Chinese?

Depends where u want to fly out?For flying in for u probably the most convinient will be china southern airlines from guangzhou to Kathmandu. If u want to go back to China after Nepal I would advice to travel overland to India really cheap and from there from Delhi or Kalkota take a flight back to China or whereever u want. Give me more details about ur plan dates when & where u want to go.How much time where u want to spend and I will try to give u some tips, prices.

Hi,
I think the suggestion above looks very good or you can fly from Kathmandu to Chengdu and from there take a flight to Shangai. Since you are living in China so that seems a very easy option. The same flight that goes to Lhasa from Kathmandu goes further to Chengdu, thus you wouldn't need to go through Tibet just the Lhasa airport.
Hope this works for you but depending on the season the flight might be already full, specially the Kathmandu / Lhasa half of the flight, so then you have a look to fly to some destinations in India or rather HOngkong and fly to Shangai from there.
Thanks,
Sanjay in Kathmandu
