From Singapore we had a short flight with Tigerair north to Penang in Malaysia. Last time we came here was in 2012 to celebrate Chinese New Year. Being here in one of our favourite places in Malaysia felt great. We love the island not only for the famous food but also for the amazing temples, the nature and the super friendly people. As we got the information that our spiritual master would have a flight to Penang just 1 hour later, we waited at the airport together with some devotees from Penang. It was lovely to meet our malaysian family and we immediately felt close. They were really excited as most of them met Guruji for the very first time. It was a joyful welcoming and we were so thankful we could be a part of ... read more

Penang, March 14-19, 2016 The bus from Melaka took a bit longer than expected. It arrived into the new bus terminal in the island late afternoon, and from there I jumped on a city bus (102) headed toward my hotel, which took another hour. After settling in, I walked the nearby beach where I was staying and ate at the food stall market in front of the hotel. The first full day on the island I headed toward the Penang National Park early in the morning. Two buses—the 101 and 102—make stops there, which make the park really convenient to visit. The forest/jungle is beautiful. There are several trails that head toward different types of attractions within the park. I decided to take the trail that headed toward the Muka Head Lighthouse. It is just over ... read more

Having decided on Malaysia as the setting for our December holidays, the weather dictated that we stick to the West side. So we spent our first week in Malaysia on the northern coast of Penang, in the beach area of Batu Ferringhi. We probably would have spent the whole month there had our last-minute accommodation search not proven so tricky, forcing us to fragment our lodging and locations. After the joy and success of renting a holiday home in Vietnam, we searched for something comparable here, keen to stay in one place during the holidays in order to ensure ... read more

Tanjung Bungah, Penang, Malaysia We arrived in Penang fresh from our adventures in Kuala Lumpur and Taman Negara park. This final week of our one month Thailand/Malaysia holiday was planned especially to allow for Rest and Relaxation, so I had booked a beach-side resort in the quieter of the beaches in Penang....Tanjung Bungah. We were really happy with the hotel as we checked in...fast and efficient and gracious. Our accommodation was even more than we had expected...a very large room with huge cupboards (the first of our holiday),a comfortable king-sized bed, a small kitchen area, granite counters and a big bathtub! The balcony overlooked an International school next door and the ocean. Lovely. Breakfast was included in the $95.00C a day. But the weather! For the first 3 days it rained...and I do mean rain. After ... read more
