Arrived in Bali on Sunday 14th and thought we might have a few days veging out but first afternoon caught up with Reg, Adele, Noah and Nick and Josie from over on Lembongan, they were just over for a few days so, so nice to catch up with them, had a lovely dinner at a little beach Warung on Batubelig Beach. Then went a bit more upmarket the next night with the same crew at UPaasha upstairs all you can eat BBQ...as many lobster/moreton bay bugs as you want and cheap beers til 8.00pm. After posting something on Facebook an old friend from Cabrini Hospital got in contact as she was in Bali too, so spent a lovely few days meeting up with her and her friend each day for drinks, walks, dinners and exploring places ... read more

Transport-taksowke zalatwilismy sobie u naszego ,doradcy' z jednego z lokalnych mini biur podrozy, o imieniu Dimas. Dimas wczesniej sprzedal nam mini treck na wulkan Batur a co nas w nim urzeklo, to ze wydal sie niezwykle naturalny, pomocny i kierujacy sie fajnymi wartosciami. Clint ujal to, ze polubij jego styl. Jak wiadomo, wiekszosc handlarzy i posrednikow glowna rzecza jaka beda sie interesowac to zysk. Kiedy robilismy rozeznanie w cenach na wyprawe na wulkan, Dimas od razu podal nam rozsadna cene o ktora z innymi trzeba bylo sie targowac. Lazy day today. Breakfast feast of fruit and home made pancakes then a swim. Decided today would be shopping then hopefully sunset at the beach. Chris C decided to stay at the villa while the rest eventually headed into town to wander the streets. The only one who knew why they wanted was Charlie. He was after some souvenirs for his school friends and wasn't stopping until they were bought. Stopped at the first souvenir stall, they had what he wanted and some bargaining had him down from 100000 to 40000 rupiah in no time. Wanted to look at other places so said no thanks, next second it was 30000. Wandered off anyway to look at others.street very busy with taksi's and motorbikes. And also very hot and humid today. Up super early for a 0900 flight (Charlie woke at 0330 for a 0500 departure from home - and just a little excited.....). Got away at 0515 which wasn't bad considering we had to get everyone up, cars packed and some toast as well. Made it to the airport in good time, caught a bus from the car park straight away and we were through the check in on under half an hour from the time we parked the car. Not bad.... Coffee and some fruit from home then to the departure gate. Watched a few planes moving around then onto our plane. Again, the queues were amazingly quick, not sure why but no complaints. Our first week - After birthday celebrations on the 27th decided to come to Bali for a little relax for three weeks, we have this little affinity with Bali and need to come at least once a year, having been coming since 1981, eventually building our hotel and running it for five years, we just have to come back and see you! Booked into a beaut little quiet hotel on Batubelig, Paragon Suites and Spa, great spot for us, out of the rat race but close enough to everything we can walk nearly anywhere we want to go. Had to catch up with our gorgeous friends Adele, Reg and Noah on our first day and I was spoilt rotten - dinner at D'Nini across the road from out hotel..a place we love to come....not a posh ... read more
