After the final few chaotic weeks of school - report cards, parties, fourth grade play, kids practically swinging from the rafters with summer fever - it was definitely time for a break! It felt good to lock the door to a clean and tidied away classroom, knowing that I wouldn't be back for two months. It was time to hit the road again. Scott has been travelling in The Philippines for the last month while I finished up the school year. On Bali arrived i rent a Surfboard for five days. The waves in Kuta are good for beginners like me. It worked very good. First day Longboard, the rest 4 days with a smaller one. The Nightlife in Kuta rocks. I find a very good Pub with Live music. I met very fast a dutch guy and go with him every Day (more or less) Surfing and drinking. After 1 Week i rented a Motobike for 3 Weeks and extend my visa to 2 month. The Plan was 3 Weeks around Bali with the Motobike. The Flight to Australia is changed to the 28th May.... read more

17,183 kilometers, 3 flights and 26 hours later, I have finally made it to Bali! Truly an uneventful journey with very little turbulence and only a few minutes delays here and there. My only woe is that I had a window seat which meant that I had to jump over the overly entertaining Filipino couple that was sitting beside me (they were going home to Manila for their 45 year high school reunion). I usually take the aisle so that it allows me to wander around the plane at will. Not being as mobile meant that my feet swelled up to the size of watermelons. Back to Legian After Ubud, we planned on heading back to the beach. We therefore stopped in Legian for a few days, on the surfers’ beach near Kuta. We stayed in Legian last time we were in Bali and chose a hotel up the road from the last place we stayed. After being in Sanur, Tanah Lot, and then Ubud, I forgot what Bali, and in particular what Legian and Kuta are all about - Aussies. Bali, with a focus on Legian and Kuta, is to Australians what Cancun is to Americans. It is only about a three hour flight from Perth, on the west coast of Australia, to Bali, and about six hours from Sydney. Hi everybody Just as a bit of a warning this is Adam typing so please excuse any grammatical or punctuation mistakes. Ooooookkkkkkkkaaaaayyyyyyy so a bit has happened already!! In the short time we've been here we've already been robbed, scammed (almost) and spent more than we planned!!! (That rhymes!) But on a lighter note Geena has had her first full beer!!!! WoooHoooo!!!
