Bali is everything I wanted it to be, more than I expected it to be, and just plain AMAZING. It is the foreign paradise island you imagine. Beautiful, strange, hot, chaotic, and relaxing. Here is what I've been up to since landing: My flights were right on time, arrived in Bali a little before midnight Tuesday 2/16 night. Nate was right there at the airport waiting for me! I had heard the airport in Bali was chaotic, with hawkers everywhere offering money exchange and taxi ride. Sure those people were there, but they weren't pushy at all. Getting through customs was a breeze. There was a little mix up with the hotel we booked for our first few nights so Nate got us a hostel room before I flew in. It was cheap, just $10/night, but ... read more

Well its been over 1 more month spent in Bali to get away from the wet season in Darwin!!! We have had more visitors come to visit us and still await for more!!! It was very busy over the silly season so we stayed in alot and only went out if we had to but come the first week of Jan it started to get quiet again, so we started going for day trips again. 1 we went on was to Turtle Island which was really just a boat ride to another beach which had turtles and a few other animals that we got to handle, Axel loved handelling the turtles!!!! We also went to a beach called Dreamland, we had been here the first time we came to bali together which was 3 years ago ... read more

... read more

Back in Bali 2nd-8th August. We spent two nights at Bali Coconut hotel, before heading back to the Adika Sari. We had the family room, which had heaps of room. Surfing at the beachies, shopping, catching up with Finny, Annmarie, Lancelin crew, Lovey and Anj and kids. Ate at some of the old favourites and found a couple of new ones. Matt got a motorbike for the day and we went to check out ratten furniture for our pool area.... read more

When we arrived back in Bali after our 20minute flight from Mataram, Matt's friend Sim picked us up and took us to the "Adika Sari Hotel". Rooms are good and price is reasonable. Had the next day in Bali to get organised for our G-Land trip. We went surfing in the morning. The beachies were good for a change. In the afternoon we headed off to get tickets and have lunch at Made's. Caught up with Finny at the beach bar. ... read more

Bali 15th-19th July Arrived into Bali at 11.15pm and had to wait an hour and a half to get through customs. Crew from Bali Coconut Hotel waiting to take us to our room. Spent first three days surfing beach breaks (pretty average as banks not very good), getting into the heat and enjoying the local food. Caught up with Nikki and Spok and kids. Also ran into Toots, Anj and Lovey.... read more

Indian Outsourcing We woke pretty early in the morning in Melaca to catch a bus to KL. We were trying to make it back to the India Visa Service Center well before the 2pm deadline. The Indian embassy has outsourced (the humor is not lost on me) its visa processing and we needed to jump through lots of hoops to get a visa. We needed to drop off our passports to have the visa processed. At this point, we had merely been waiting for our clearance. Eric checked online, and his passport cleared within two days. We were excited to be getting this off our to do list. Unfortunately, our first hurdle was that Eric’s passport was cleared in two days, but after seven days, mine still had not passed. They were unsure why. They ... read more

Well, I have to disagree with all of you people who don't like bali...I LOVED IT! Kuta can be very touristy (but fun) but Legian & Seminyak are just beautiful. It's a wonderful place to holiday. I've come to the conclusion that people who turn their noses up at bali, haven't actually been there!!! Lisy, Kurt, Jeremy and I headed over for a much needed holiday. The plan was to eat, drink, sleep, shop and pamper our way through 9 lovely days. Like with anything, things don't always go to plan. Poor Kurt unfortuantely got sick on day 2 and never recovered. He and Lisy ended up leaving after a few days so it was just Jezabel and I left to our own devices. We did stick to the plan of eating, drinking, sleeping, shopping and ... read more
