Bali Part 1

I visited Bali Indonesia over the Chinese New Year holiday. My holiday was 2 weeks in total and I spent 9 days in Indonesia. First I arrived in Denpasar Bali, after a 6 and half hour flight from Shanghai. The weather was hot and a nice change from the damp cold we have had for the past 3 months. The first step was to change my Chinese Yuan into Indonesian Rupiah. I went from having 2000 rmb to 2 million rupiah. Next on the cab ride to our hotel in Legian, we drove on the opposite side of the road. Yes, I was definately out of Shanghai! haha

The first 3 days we spent on the island of Bali. We booked a day drip that took up white water rafting through a jungle and then to an elephant sanctuary, where we were able to ride an elephant and interact with them afterwards.

On the 4th day we hopped on a bus, which was "supposed to take us to" Padang Bay, where we would then take a Ferry to the island of Lombok. We did end up making it to Lombok, but not exactly how we expected......stay tuned for Part 2.

It was interesting to learn about these since they were all over the island. The checkered skirt has a specific meaning as well as the colour of the skirt that is presented.
