Off to Bharatpur via a local bus- it was fine, we thought its would be a nightmare. We got a room (bathroom and aircon) at the falcon guest house for Rs 200- we were the only ones staying there (infact I think we were the only people staying in bharatpur as we were out of season for the birds!) We arrived at the guest house in the middle of "prayer day"- oops! We had lunch and wandered for a while... nothing to see apart from the national park , which we plan to go to tommorow. Decided to go on the internet- it took us 2 hours and 2 computors to use hotmail! We had to order our evening meal in advance, which we did and ate at 20:00. we arrived into delhi at 04:15. set off to our hotel (oberoi maidens)after much "help" from touts outside the airport! Our room was fantastic- it will be 75 rupee rooms from now on! Walked to the New Delhi train station in order to book our tickets to agra tommorow ( air con seat @0600 hrs for rs 420. We walked to connaught place ( many friendly touts trailing!)We bought our first sandwiches (indian stylie- warm and spicy!) Banquet meal and happy hour beers at night... read more

“Delhi-Belly” New Delhi, India 2nd February - 22nd February 2002 Six months into a new career as a Business Analyst in London, the project schedule called for software testing to be undertaken at our software house (TCS) in New Delhi, India. This process required a collection of regional representatives to meet at TCS and attempt to “break” the application we had recently built. My job was to over-see the testing and ensure our regional “chaps” kept to the pre-defined schedule. At this point in time, my international travel itinerary since moving to England consisted of only a long weekend in Barcelona, so my reaction to upgraded flights to Delhi was somewhat enthusiastic.
