So the first leg of my journey albeit a short one is over. I’m typing this in Mumbai Airport with a rather long wait for my flight to Singapore (An my first dip in a pool Woooh). The flight from London was great, really recommend kingfisher. Had my first curry on the plane, it came with two other pots of what turned out to be mint yogurt and some semolina type goo, I did a sneaky glance to my left to see what order the Indian bloke next to me was eating. Hands down the best plane food i’ve ever had. Only complaint was they were a little stingy on the drinks. I only managed to get one Jack Daniels and Coke! The 9 hour flight flew by (literally) as I watched a film and slept ... read more

MUMBAI It is difficult to start to write about Mumbai, I knew what to expect but still...... We had 2 long flights behind us, one from Miami to London where we spent 12 hours and met up with my parents whom we gave our winter clothes (thx lieverds! We love you!) and than 9,5 hours to Mumbai so we didn't get much sleep. The flight with Jet air was superb. We flew a Boeing 777 which had a lot of leg room, very comfortable chairs, great food and an on-board entertainment system so our first meeting with India was luxurious, but that all soon changed. From the airport we took prepaid taxi to make sure we wouldn't be ripped of to much the second we arrived in India:) With us in a Suzuki Alto and our ... read more

So this blog won’t really have much writing, but I’ve put up a lot of photos because it’s all about the food!!!! For Nerida’s birthday she had planned a Food Safari, which basically meant going to her choice of favourite restaurants and eating, eating, eating….The list of restaurants kept growing and I think the Food Safari lasted from the day we arrived in Mumbai until the day we left. Brett and I had lost weight during our travels in India because we managed to get sick every couple of weeks, but after our three weeks in Mumbai we have put on all the weight we’d lost and then some! We had a great time relaxing in Mumbai hanging out with Nezzi and Khaliq, seeing the sights of Mumbai as we went. Eating lots of food, riding ... read more

Hi Everyone and welcome to the India Blogs of Anne and Mike, On Tuesday the 29th of March, we set out from Cairns early in the morning, bound for Mumbai. We flew to Brisbane first and were delighted to see that Nick Vujicic was on our flight to Singapore. I resisted the urge to race up and say hello and instead doubled back to the bookshop to buy his book. I had not heard of Nick until a fortnight ago when Adam Hills interviewed him on “Gordon Street Tonight.”Nick was born without any limbs and is an inspirational person. Later in the flight I said “Hi” to him and found out that he was on a multi-country speaking tour. He offered me a hug and a chat. What a lovely guy. Arrival in Mumbai occurred at ... read more
