Well I write this after a lovely couple of days relaxing on the beaches here, Goa is definately completely tourist friendly, its such a break from the hustle and bustle and sometimes quite rude behaviour in the north of India. Here there is loads of beachy things to do, loads of things to buy (eek!) and beautiful food to eat. My stay in Goa hasn't been completely smooth though, as I mentioned in the last entry I started to feel quite unwell en route, and I actually ended up having the full diarrhoa and vomiting on the flight down to goa. By the time I arrived in Goa I could not face going any more than 5 miles from the airport. So i ended up staying in a little place called Bogmalo, which was like a ... read more

Jetzt, ... read more

MARMAGOA & OLD GOA, GOA, INDIA. Sunday 18 March, 2012. The ship was late but immigration was pretty slick. We were doing a ship tour this stop (our first) so we were treated to the preferential treatment that all the tours get and were processed first. The tour was called Spices with Spiritual Insights with Old Goa. Goa is the smallest state in India with a population of 1.4 million. Goa was ruled by the Portugese for 451 years, only ending in 1961 when the Indians took over. This has left Goa with a blend of two cultures from two continents. Christians still number one third of the population. Among the paddy fields, wayside Crusifixes alternate with Hindu Shrines. After boarding the coach we were taken to Old Goa. Old Goa has been abandoned since the ... read more

5 Mars 2012, Palolem, Goa En Vrac!

Four years ago we moved to London and celebrated my birthday and a house warming all together. The leap year is around and it was again time for my birthday – my 8th! So after four years the 29th of February was back on the calendar! Which meant that after three years of two (or none at all) days for people to congratulate me I was finally looking forward to THE day! But it was not to be. My mum sent me an email two days earlier, on the 27th. At least from my mum I would expect it on the right day. But a day later it got even worse! Facebook, one of the biggest companies in the world, employing thousands upon thousand of geeks does not have a single person capable of figuring out ... read more

Today has been pretty much the best day so far. Like, really amazing. But I think its been a while since I've updated on here, so I'll rewind a wee bit! We spent a week in Varkala. There's not an awful lot to do there, except everything which was needed right at that very moment. Sun, sea, facials, beer, cocktails, ace new friends, and a jolly good laugh. Picture this.... sun setting, feeling snoozy on the beach, some guy playing a wee wooden flute next to us... then a pack of dogs come over, and one pisses right next to us. Nice. The beaches are crazy. Dog and cows, and even goats walking about! After seven nights of lazing about, we packed up our belongings in the hut (the same hut which some cheeky little chancer ... read more
