Rio de Janeiro.I love this city:) A visit in Rio cannot be completed without a visit to the top attractions in Rio. The Christ,the Sugarloaf,the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Sellaron Steps,and lets not forget the Santa Teresa neighborhood. I need to say this, before i start writing about the sights. We had a camera,joanna fell of the horse-result the camera is malfunctioning, bought a new smaller one, charged it but forgot toput amemory card in. Day 133 Tuesday 21st February Sorry nothing much to report today it was a very lazy day just looked around the shops. In the afternoon we went to beach kiosk for a few drinks and then onto a café for dinner. Day 134 Wednesday 22nd February We got up at a decent time today had brekkie and out the door to catch the metro to Largo do Machado. Our Portuguese is getting a lot better these days as we can now say “Bong dia, dois Unitario por favour” (Hello 2 singles tickets please) and the ticket attendant understands us. Day 130 Saturday 18th February Today we are going to Ipanema Beach to check out all the beautiful people and the better shopping area. Once again we took the Metro but this time we headed south to what is the end of the line for the metro in Rio. People everywhere have feathers and masks and beer and all seem to be heading to the beach, so we joined them, (less the beer…surprisingly). We looked around the shops first and although there were some nice ones it did not look that exciting, so we went down to the beach. The landscape around the beach is beautiful, but as for the beach it is hard to tell because it is so crowded with beach umbrellas and people. Right, so I've been here almost three weeks now and through a combination of laziness and poor equipment this is officially the first entry of my blog since leaving Watford! Ive seen some pretty cool stuff and met some even cooler people! We arrived at our hostel in Buenos Aires pretty early in the morning and were not able to check into our room until the afternoon! We were just in time for a walking tour of the city though so we chucked our bags down and got involved in that! The highlight of the tour was definitely La Bombonera, the Boca juniors ground! Right now I´m sitting in an internet cafe in Rio watching the rain poor down outside and I´m thinking, perhaps time for a blog update! So let me back-up a little. After Porto Seguro I headed inland to Belo Horizonte. People don´t usually stay there since there isn´t too much to do, except take the bus another 2 hours down to Ouro Preto. I, however, did stay an additional day and a half to stay with family of Gabriella and Lucinea. I arrived and got picked up by Renata and Amanda who took me to family to meet everybody and eat a delicious Moqueca de Peixe! (Almost like a fish curry, but Brazilian style).
