The last few days have been the most perfect weather. Never a cloud in the sky. Today I sat by the pool and read a book one of the girls in my room had. I hopped in and out of the pool all day to cool off. The YHA in Perth has a free pool and a gym for it's guests. The pool is really nice and clean. It's so nice to just sit and relax by the pool. Kylie from Southern Cross and a few of the other girls were coming into Perth tonight as their mates Karen and Kenny were getting married the next night. I got myself ready and walked down to the hotel the girls were staying. Me and Jade caught up on all the gossip while we waited for the other ... read more

Perth - after arriving on the 18th we spent the first couple of days trying to sort out accomodation errors - note to self double check reservation/confirmations in advance!! That didn't get in the way of having a good time - we spent a gorgeous day out at Rottnest Island, though the journey getting there was very rough and we both felt very sea sick, we had planned to hire bikes to ride round the island on but surprisingly when we got there all 1500 were being used (we now recommend booking on the web in advance), we still managed to see lots of beaches and coves and swam and sunbathed and had a picnic on the beach. On the Sunday we travelled by train to Freemantle a popular destination just 20minutes out of the city ... read more

OK friends, I am handicapped. I have come to the Rendezvous Observation Hotel in Scarborough North for a holiday. My brother PAID for this trip. I have MANY comnplaints. 1st Our room was serviced and our balcony door has been left open, so that our expensive equipment may be stolen, such as my lap-top pc, GPS Guidance and our phone's. Not to mention our personal effect's. 2nd I asked 4 days prior to this for an extension cord so that I may use my lap-top to comunicate with friend's. The Concierge; Mr Brad Rider was unable to locate an extension cord for the past 4 days.He couldnt tell me when 1 would be available. So I bought 1 out of my own spending $$$. 3rd OK Our room has been left unlocked by cleaners and I ... read more

On return from my South West it was straight up to the northern beach suburb of Perth, Scarborough, to indulge in a 5 day period of surf lessons, it's kind of rude not too. Checked into the Western Beach lodge just 10mins stroll from the beach, it's a bit of a 'long termers' hostel so I had to choose a night when there was a big leaving party. Full of people who don't even stay there all bigging up some girl who I'm sure was lovely but I had surfing first thing and was kept up all night. Surfed with the big boys of Scarborough, SurfSchool (as in surfschool.com) who have posters in all the Perth Hostels etc. They pop a truck on the grass everyday and my first day being a Saturday it was mobbed, ... read more

Well... here we are. we are setup. we have a place to live. About 200 meters from the ocean and a bed for everyone. which is nice... it also has a bathroom, something we missed for a couple weeks back. Figured I would through up a few photos of our new pad for this 2 month stint of work. then we are off as of the first week or 2 into september and heading north along the coast. I am working at a welding shop and jackie and sean are still searching for jobs, but with some luck we figure they will be good to go by this week.... read more

Two weeks in and I haven't swung for Philip yet , who would of thought it. We went to Floreat beach with Louis and Jayne today we got a message that Bobby had been a bit wobbly in the night so we were very worried (he's ok now and went school phew.) anyway Philip was bathing his feet in the sea fully clothed thinking of bobster. when a big wave came along and completely covered him from head to toe, much to everyone's amusement on the beach. Jayne and Louis found it Hilarious . Who knew they had big waves here its not like its known for its surfing! utter meff he is twice in four days now. we had lunch and a baby chino in the beach restaurant. Philip then went off for a run ... read more

We have rode 23 miles on our bike , well Philip has I just relaxed and watch the beautiful scenery from his back pack. We went to Scarborough Beach , where Bobby and Philip stayed the last time they were here. We had a bit of a drama after the police told Philip off not wearing a helmet apparently its compulsory in WA and we could of got fined $65aus! so we had to go the cycle shop where Philip insisted on paying an extra $10 not to have a red one! As Bobby said when he texted via his mum "That’s not fair Peppa Pig doesn't wear a helmet and he doesn't get in trouble." Indeed On the cycle home we stopped to watch a wedding on Trigg Beach , Philip thought it beautiful and ... read more
