Tegemist ... read more

DAY 178 Andy got up at 5.30 this morning as he heard Sue beetling around early, it was Sue’s first day back at work after her 10 week break and as we were leaving today he wanted to make sure he saw her before she left for work at 6.00, Andy needed to agree with Sue where to leave the key for the house when we leave later. I was blissfully unaware. Despite our early night last night I slept through until the usual time of 7.00 when Andy brought me a cup of tea in bed. I was disappointed not to see Sue before she left, but then goodbyes are hard. After a quick breakfast of tea and toast we got ourselves showered finished packing and were ready to leave the house by 9.58. Andy ... read more

DAY 177 We have been enjoying our stay in Perth at Cliff and Sue’s home, but all things have to come to and end eventually, I have enjoyed being here very much, but I can again feel myself becoming a slave to it, and we both have started to feel that we should be moving again. You just get in to a flow of putting the trailer up, taking it down, blah blah and the routine has being broken and I am also feeling that we just do not want to outstay our welcome. Our intention today is to get going and break the bounds of Perth and up to the Pinnacles, heading North eventually towards Darwin and Perth to Darwin is over 4000 Kilometers away, so we need get a wiggle on. We had explained ... read more

DAY 176 I was up at 6.45, I have my Skype session for 7.00 with the girls who are partying on Friday night in England. It has been a while since we last spoke over Skype, partly due to the frequency of the get togethers and partly due to my location and internet availability. I crept downstairs and shut the doors, booted up the laptop and put the kettle on, in no time at all the call was being answered in England, as usual I could hear lots of frivolity and screaming with laughter, I could see everybody on the screen. Andy appeared and said it was too loud, I went outside on the veranda so that the noise did not reverberate around the house, but the veranda is covered and also produces and echo so ... read more

DAY 175 Another beautiful morning here in Perth, woke up slightly later than usual as we had a late night last night after watching the film and a couple of glasses of wine. It is a little chilly to start with but the days do warm up quite quickly here. This morning after breakfast we all jump in the truck and head off to Anaconda, just another large outdoor store here in Australia, it will make a change from visiting Bunnings and BCF. The roads are busy but the traffic is moving and we pull into the car park with ease. I have been looking forward to visiting this store as a lot of people have mentioned it to us as a good store to buy camping gear or anything for the outdoors as a matter ... read more

DAY 174 It was a gorgeous day in Perth, Western Australia today, and we are enjoying a brief respite from camping. Cliff and Sue Graham have invited us into their home and we are enjoying the peace, and comforts that they have given us and truly grateful. All I can say is thank god for PedEgg, those bloody flip flops (Thongs) play absolute havoc on your feet and it takes absolutely ages rubbing the skin flat and getting all the rough skin off, still it is great sitting in a lovely shower while I tend to my feet. Disappointingly Cliff has been flown back onto his rig for his 2 weeks on, so Sue is here for this week before she returns back to work on Monday. Caroline and myself intended to go in to Perth ... read more

DAY 173 It was 7.00 and we were both awake, it is strange that we always wake up at roughly the same time each morning, whether we stay in bed a little longer or not is another matter, but today we are both up, and while Andy goes straight downstairs to make the tea I get myself ready for the day ahead. What a lovely nights sleep we had and it was such a warm night as well, I think we have become accustomed to sleeping snug in our sleeping bags and blankets in the cold night air that surrounds our trailer tent, now we are experiencing 4 walls again it feels a tad too warm, but hey I am not complaining! Downstairs I find Cliff, Sue and Andy outside on the veranda drinking a ... read more

A very big “Thank you” to Reen for sending us the two books that we will take with us on our travels once we leave Perth to head up North. Reen also kindly sent us a little LED torch that will be handy to keep in our glove box especially handy for not tripping over the tent pegs on these dark evenings. Many thanks Reen, your kindness and generosity is very much appreciated, and we will get stuck in to the books. Andy & Caroline ... read more
