We got to Karratha and hung with Clay for a few hours drinking and cooking up some spag bogg on the little cooker in some industrial area of Karratha. We were there for Clay , we had both been hanging to see someone we knew to share some stories and Clay was the right person for the job. That night we crashed in the back of his cruiser in our swags. Clay did offer to squeeze us into his little donger but given it's size and the fact Clay had to get up at sparrows we thought better. After an early rise Sandy and I hit the road , exploring again. We took a drive out to Dampier, Wickham and Point Samson. Went for a dip after some fish n chips @ Point samson. Once on the road again, as it turns happens we had a day or so to kill and headed for a small National park on the way to Karratha called Millstream- Chichester National park. It was the most amazing drive inland, who’d have thought. The long stretches and the landscape were so pretty. Sandy and I stopped a couple of times to soak it all in. We made it into the park just on sunset, which was lucky and oh so beautiful. After the long drive and a few hours of impersonating a crickets conversation, whilst hanging out on a camp light (their equivalent to a night on the town) we tucked ourselves away for another day of exploring. That was the night I had to get over my phobia of the dark and go to ... read more

Next morning we were happy to head onto Exmouth and check out the Ningy reef, if Coral bay and the snorkelling was anything to go by, Sandy and I were in for a real treat with the Ningaloo Marine Park. We found us a great spot next to Mandu Sanctuary zone and pulled out the tent, then headed out for an afternoon walk up Yardi Creek Gorge with a few tinnies of VB. Was a great humid afternoon too so we took a risk and went for a dip in the creek, a risk I say because they found a croc all the way up in Coral bay, who knows where it came from. That in mind we dared each other to swim the gorge, it was in record time as you’d imagine. We stopped on ... read more

Sandy stumbled across a couple of canyons on the way to Exmouth that turned out to be massive. The Charles Knife and Shothole Canyons looking out over Cape Range National Park proved to be breathtaking and a calorie burner all in one. We decided on the 8 km loop and started out early morn as it was gonna be a scorcher. It’s a beautiful national park with flora and fauna to boast. From goats, to birds, spidys and stone pile ons’ to guide you through. The most spectacular views are from the top of the canyons. It took us a while getting up there, and not so long getting down. After a few Coooooyeeeeeee’s and snappy snaps Sandy and I headed back and man was it warm by the time we got to the car. Thirsty ... read more

Coral Bay was everything it's name lives up to. When Sandy I rocked up, we were like giddy school children in a candy store. We couldn't believe what we were seeing. This little sea side holiday destination is the most stunning beach we've come across to date. The picturesque skyline , highlighted by the aqua water, clear water, then white sand stretched forever up the coast. We jumped out the car , and ran down the beach to be ankle deep and have massive massive fish swim up close to have peek at our ankles. This was the first snap shot of what was in store for us as soon as we stuck our heads under water with snorkles. So excited we got back to the car, put our gear on and headed down to Main ... read more
