Hello Everyone and Happy New Year! Hope you had a great festive season! At the moment I am travelling up the east coast of Australia, had a bit of spare time today so thought I would update this beast so I don't have to write a really long one in a few weeks time! So enjoy my ramblings and try to not get too bored, and i hope you enjoy all our run ins with celebrities! Bondi Beach We spent xmas and new year staying in the swanky Swiss Grand Hotel in Bondi Beach, which was a 5 star hotel! A little bit of luxury that I think we deserved! Features of the hotel included a rooftop pool, which we spent most of our time, and two double beds in our room! This meant that I ... read more

That's right, David Hasselhoff is HUGE here!! He's everywhere!! These people love the guy. He's not a celebrity or a star but a SUPERSTAR! It's hilarious. He was on the Arias (Australian awards show), Australian Idol and the crowd just goes nuts when he makes an appearance. On our sailing trip through the Whitsunday Islands the skipper was explaining life jackets etc. and said something along the lines of "I don't want to pull a Hasselhoff and save you" Something else...really. The TV shows here are also quite comical. They copy nearly all of our shows and do just a horrible job at it. Justin thought he was watching a Saturday Night Live skit and it was actually the Australian version of the Price is Right. Oh well, it's all good anyways. Also, this entire continent ... read more

left agnes water bright and early after saying goodbye to gus :) next stop, hervey bay, about 5 hours south of agnes. the bus journey was nothing after that monster of a journey down from airlie!!!!! :D me and sharn checked in and had just enough time to walk into town, deduce that hervey bay was rubbish (small, sleepy, nothing to write home about really which for some reason was a bit of a shock because i was expecting something similar to airlie?! not sure why, but anyhoo!!) and get back to the hostel for our fraser island briefing!!!! so yeah, fraser island briefing - fraser island is the world's largest sand island and its just off the coast of queensland near hervey bay. we were booked onto a 3 day camping trip, all tres exciting! ... read more

Hier komen (hopelijk) de foto's.... read more

OOOHH MY BUDDHA!!! FINALLY I just finished my last exam (5 minutes ago) and the tensions are starting to realease from my body (- won´t even spell right anymore). Tonight we (me and my sister Romissa) are going to celebrate with some drinks and a nice dinner. I havn't been able to add stuff and pictures as I wanted to but I have been feeling great (except for all the stressed studies) and have done alot of fun stuff - like visiting wineyards. Tonight is my LAAAST night in Sydney for a while and we are leaving for Brisbane tomorrow. We will be a group of 9 people renting to cars (stationwagons) and travelling from Brisbane to Cairns during 18 days. First stop will be Hervey Beach where we will stay and then go to Fraser ... read more

Almost half way point Away hundred fifty days Where does the time go? I can't believe that I've been travelling around for the last 150 days as of today. Seems just like yesterday I was scrambling around getting my bags all packed up and rushing to the airport! To celebrate (okay it wasn't intentional...just coincidence!) I booked myself a one day guided tour to Fraser Island. Most people opt for a three day self guided tour where you're paired with up to 9 other people, get food and camping gear and discover Fraser Island on your own. Camping under the stars could potentially sound like fun but I hear a lot of the time these things turn into one big booze fest. The one day tour I signed up with Kingfisher had the potential for a ... read more
