Having regained our energy Sara and me hit the bar this evening. Meeting up with some of the people she'd met earlier in her trip. Crazy Dancing and the usual cheesey music meant a long night of boogie-ing. We headed from our hostel to Beaches Bar for more cheese and boogie. When Sara and I found ourselves as the only people remaining on the dance floor at 2.30 we decided to head home. The boys from our hostel decided to navigate. Badly. "Boys, this is the wrong way" I cried "No its not, little blonde girl, as if you'd know" Matt replied. Fine see ya in a few hours. So sara and I headed home the right way and awaited the head-hung return of the foolish followers of matt. Matt was made to walk home with ... read more

Hej guys! Saa er ogsaa Fraser Island oplevet. Vidunderligt.

I got up, checked out, did the whole breifing thing, then decided it wasn't right without Skinny, who was doin it a couple of days later. I thought it would be best to spend some time apart because she's probably sick of me. I didnt like the thought of her going on her own so at the last minute I changed my mind... read more

Days 22 - 30 Rain, rain, and more rain. Day 22 - Kingscliffe Intermittent showers had me running between the tent and outside (where I was trying to get gear re-organized). The paddle into Kingscliffe was a bit dicey with a fairly strong south swell breaking over a reef just in front of where I was landing. Day 23 - Jumpinpin bar Fairly long mileage day (42 miles), but I had to get around the 'Gold Coast' in one pass (as well as getting inside the 'Broadwater' and paddling up to the north end of South Stradbroke Island). With the unsettled weather, the heavy swells had me worried about entering the bar at Southport - but it turned out to be fairly easy. Day 24 - Reeders Point (South end of Moreton Island) To avoid the ... read more

Hey Everybody This one is going to be quick and to the point because I spent most of my internet time fighting with Queen's, as usual. Alright well we just got back from our adventure to Fraser island, for those of you who have not heard of Fraser Island, it is the largest sand island in the world, picture it as a giant sand castle. I'm just kidding, it was more like a lot of sand and some beautiful freshwater lakes in the middle. We camped for two nights with eight people we were just thrown in a 4x4 with and I've got to say, the only way we would have had a better group is if Johnny Depp in a pirate outfit was included, throwing in Orlando Bloom would not have hurt either. We had ... read more

Hi everyone, I guess it's time for another journal entry, which seem to come about so fast and furious at the moment. I'm sorry that I'm not doing one every week as promised but I'm always on the go at the moment and when i do get a few hours to catch up on emails i find the worst internet shops, which don't have USB connections for me to download my pics. Anyway, let me tell you what I've been up to since the last time I wrote. I left Byron Bay reluctantly on saturday 14th and decided to head over to Brisbane for a saturday night out in a big city as I figured that it would be the best way to judge what kind of city Brisbane was and I wasn't disappointed! I stayed ... read more
