Days 51-53 Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Brisbane » Aspley
Australia Zoo was really good; they have a really good crocodile and snake collection (obviously!) and elephants and tigers too. They also put on a show with birds and crocs and stuff - that was pretty cool. We also got to feed and pet some kangaroos and koala bears which were super soft! Andy had to go back to the car for the camera and on the way he saw Steve Irwin’s wife and daughter Terry and Bindi! It was quite sad walking around the park and seeing all the Steve Irwin stuff; as you walk in the door there is [View Full Entry]

Day 64 - Melbourne to Brisbane (with Virgin Blue) Our flight is at noon from the Virgin Blue terminal in Melbourne. We’re up early and the final puppy watch went beautifully without so much as a whimper! We’re packed up with time to spend with the girls and Anna before we need to head off, Grants gone back to bed bless him! We fit the Beanie Kids back in the hand luggage so they can come with us during the remainder of our trip and promise to take some great snaps. We say a sad farewell to everyone, we’ve only been [View Full Entry]

To Be Completed!!! Oceania » Australia » Queensland » Brisbane » Aspley
I woke up to the sound of the Doctor Who theme playing on my mobile, thus realising sleepy time was once again over and I had an urgent 7 o'clock appointment on the golf course. After a pleasant couple of hours, we returned back to base where upon I readied myself to take the now familiar journey into the City. After admiring the criminal courts (not that I have any real desire to frequent them anytime soon), I ventured across to the Greyhound terminus to purchase my ticket to Ballina tomorrow. I got up...yep, that says it all pretty much doesn't it!!! I spent the morning plotting the next few weeks of my Brisbane experience checking out coach fares and accommodation possibilities in Chinchilla and also places of interest on the Sunshine and Gold Coasts. After watching Macgyver once again save the world, I watched the Aussies win the cricket for the second game in succession...it's like the old adage, one doesn’t turn up for ages...then two turn up at once!! I have toothache again tonight, nowhere near as bad as the Malaysian agony but bad enough to warrant a couple of [View Full Entry]

Having surfaced like a mole from a mole hill...yes, I know this is getting worse, the first thing I noticed was just how stupidly hot is was, clear blue sky and a sticky 94F. I hopped onto the bus and ventured into town and within an hour, I was tired hot and bothered...so I found the nearest bar, had a huge pub lunch and then chilled out with an ice cold 'Pure Blonde'. Feeling refreshed although still pretty sticky, I returned back to base briefly before Mike and I ventured firstly over to Erics with yet more boxes and then to [View Full Entry]

I was rudely awakened at 6.10am by my mobile alarm ringing, indicating that it wanted me to get my arse out of bed...and ten minutes later, it rang again...telling me that it wasn’t joking!! Who invented the snooze button anyway!!! I then proceeded to make my sleepy way to the kitchen and fumbled about for the coffee jar...me without caffeine is like a penguin without a wrapper, so once I had my fix, I was now finally ready to go play golf. It was a lovely morning and ambling around the course without a care in the world was just bliss. [View Full Entry]

I have finally finished my book...for all of you who have been following the storyline Matt ended up being the murderer, He was shot at the end by his sister Cherry and Avery and Hunter drove off into the distance together complete with dog and puppies. Today, after having a quick waffle to Terri the T...I took the now shorter stroll to the nearby bus stop and went into the city to see what I could find today. There was a street magician called Steve London (quirky huh) who was bamboozling passers by with his novelty tricks, a bloke with a [View Full Entry]

Something truly bizarre happened this morning, I slept in until ten o'clock...so by the time I was breakfasted, showered and shaved it was pretty much half past eleven!! For the first time since arriving in Brisbane, I jumped on the 353 into the City from the stop literally just over the road...why I have been trekking half way across the district to the 345 route for no obvious reason is now worrying me!! I had a good wander in town today taking in Queens Plaza shopping mall, Mick O'Malleys Irish Bar (where I encountered a very strange individual called Francis who [View Full Entry]

I was awoken early at 4.30am from my slumber by the sound of giggling girls before a car started up and pulled away. Having finally drifted back off to sleep, I was then interrupted for the second time by the now all too familiar sound of the bird's everyday 'dawn chorus' outside my bedroom window. Having been disturbed twice, I gave up on the idea of sleeping and reached under my bed for my book and caught up with the continued antics of Avery and Hunter, whom it appears she is sleeping with now! I have now come to the conclusion [View Full Entry]
