Hay yo, so my life is going well, I'm loving Sydney so much it will be hard to leave. My boss keeps telling me how well I'm doing and I have a real good group of mates who all look out for me, great guys shame there Australian, just kidding! Went out on Friday and again didn't get in till 9am Saturday! The Friday before I didn't get in until 10pm Saturday, 25 hours of partying. Not too good for my health but some wicked times. I'm in love with Kings Cross, it's just ultimate sleaze and it's great. It's the most densely populated place in Australia and is home to some of the best strippers and lap dancers, it's just golden. Starting to miss home a little though, well just the people like my friends ... read more

Went to the Sydney Zoo known as Taranga yesterday, good selection of animals, clocked the Kangaroos, Tasmanian Devils, Koalas and came face to face with the worlds most venomous snake, luckily there was some glass between us, anyway lets hope I don't meet one when I get to more outbackish climes (which I will be doing before very long) Enjoyed walking round the shopping areas of town today, again it's proper big city, more like America then anywhere I've been in America, but only on appearences. Was desperate to pick up some reading material in view of my forthcoming 'train time' I've got a feeling that it's not entirely possible to enjoy looking at the view for a full 24 hours a day. One dissapointment is my hostel here, like the bloke in my room who ... read more

If only cos my 'great mate' Steve said to, I'm staying in Kings Cross area of Sydney, similar to the namesake in London, a dodgy hive of scum and villinany, full of vice, smackheads and weird old men who walk along shouting at cars, great fun! Still been into Syndey CBD, gotta love the lush Botanical Gardens, the Opera House and Bridge and Wharfs are well you've all seen the pictures, and nice to be warm again, it's pleasantly sunny here. To be fair to Sydney, it's a proper 'big' city, up there with your Los Angeles, London's, New Yorks etc. Slight moan - my hostel is okay, but there is one thing I don't like in hostels, that is commmunal areas being dominated by a loud, blaring television, usually showing the Simpsons or MTV, why ... read more

Well I have arrived in Sydney. Everything everyone has said about it is true. It is a beautiful city. I'm enjoying walking about and cycling now that I have my new bike. Yes, a new bike. After taking in my Cannondale for a tune up, it was decided that a new bike was in order. I'm now on a Specialized, Sirrus hybrid. I'm due to leave on Sunday. More later.... read more

Right guys, well this appears to be my first entry, came accross this website and thought it would be a lot easier on my behalf then sending you lot emails all the time. Frankly i guess im just too Lazy. Left Sydney yesterday, we got a flight over to Perth and plan to get a camper in the next few days and travel up the west coast to Darwin. Sydney was cool for the first couple of weeks but after a while when your working all the time and weather turns rubbish there isn't much to do. Wish i could tell you about all these crazy nights ive had since ive been living here but it just hasnt happened. Good news is now i have no job, lots of cash and 4 weeks to blow it ... read more

yesterday was cool, it was still raining, but we explored the city a bit more, and dodged the showers. we bought a city hopper ticket to use on the trains and stuff. we went on a ferry to manly island, and it was a nice trip past the opera house and the bridge, its weird cos the opera house is not really white like we thought it was , its more of a yellowy brown colour - still an amazing building and cool sight to see. we had a quick look around manly island, and then on the way back tried to figure out which was Tom Cruises house on the river - dont think we found it though. got bargainous dominoes pizza for tea, and ate that outside a strip club near our hostel - ... read more

hey all, wowee, the last few days have been a bit full on and have done loads of stuff and reaarranged loads of stuff. Well we stayed one night at port macquarie, in a really cosy little hostel - it was sooo nice. The evening we arrived, we went to an observatory there, and tried out our new hobby of astromony. We arrived like 1 hour early as usual, and waited outside until the people arrived. We then had a look at the moon through a massive telescope and we coudl see all the craters and everything - it was amaxing. then had an excellent lecture on astronomy and the night sky int he southern hemisphere and it was just like being back at uni! Then the best bit, they had set up two massive telescopes ... read more

That's it that's all....This is our last day in Australia (tomorrow barely counts since we have to go to the airport and everything) I've walked the city so many times in the past few days, I know it by heart, it feels like home here and it is really sad to leave such a beautiful country. This trip was the best experience ever and I learned so many things about life, about myself, about living with others, about culture, about the world! Travelling is, according to me as good, if not better, than going to university! You learn so much about life... It has opened my eyes as to what i really wanted to do in life and I met people who were actually living this lifestyle! It's incredible! Idid things and went through situations I ... read more

Hello everybody well after arriving safely and spending a few days with Terry, Gee, Ben and Adam in Castle Hill which is about 30k outside Sydney I decided I should head down to the main town and see the sights. Off to Kings Cross I went which remineded me very much of London as a street with all the homeless people, drug issues and seedy strip clubs!!. I was a little bit shocked to be honest I didn't expect this here in Sydney but nevertheless I looked for a hostel and ended up in the Globe which was cheap at $15 AUD a night so that was cool. After checking ina finding my dorm I met one of the guys who was in my room a lad from Leeds who had been living there for 3 ... read more

Anti American Idiots - So I guess that could mean two different things, depending on how you read it. It could mean that someone is against American Idiots, people who live in America but do not educate themselves on what their government is doing or how the actions of the US affect the world. Or, it could mean that someone is ‘anti-American’, but they themselves are idiots. I believe there exists too many of both these type of people…but right now I want to talk about the latter. I am staying in a real seedy part of Sydney. An area called Kings Cross, which is a mixture of the Tenderloin and Haight areas of San Francisco. The reason I am in this area is because this is where all the hostels are. It’s the only place ... read more
