Well, its all over!! Cant believe that we arrived back home last night, and three months has gone! We both had the trip of a lifetime, and have learnt alot and seen a lot more! On reflection i think we both enjoyed thailand the best, and then New Zealand and then Fiji despite the ups and downs. Fiji was a totally different world, fiji time surpassed anything we ever expected! There are some photos here just to give you an idea of what it was like. Back to normality now, the washing is on, job search has begun and chris is [View Full Entry]

Yesterday we set off up the coast towards the bay of islands. on the way we stopped to climb a volcano, seriusly. When we got there it was a track which led up through a forrest and it seemed steep but ok at first, then as we got deeper and deeper the track actually turned into a slippery step ladder track carved roughly into the rocks! We got about half way up and i was really scared of getting back down again, so chris went on ahead. He seemed ages, until i heard him shout that he was on his way [View Full Entry]

Hi all, we are going to try and add the piccies from yesterday which didnt work! Today we visited the buried village site where an eruption in 1887 completed buried a village and destroyed the new zeland named eigth wonder of the natural world - the pink and white terraces. The museum and site were really cool and it is scary to think that something so amazing was destroyed - we wouldnt evcen know it was there if it happened like 500 years earlier before photography! We went and saw a massive waterfall on the walk back to the car park, [View Full Entry]

The sunshine was out this morning which is great, its sooo not cool when it rains. Last night was really good fun at the Maori experience, we started off by arriving at the village and walking through the forrest where a war boat passed us with loads of barely clad men in it, and there were some running around the forrest around us with flaming torches! then they did a dance of the opposite side of the river, whcih was cool! Then we went to the village where we had a welcoming ceremony with loads of songs and chnats, and scary [View Full Entry]

yep, its raining today - oh well we have been really bloody lucky up until now, its raining so hard though that it was bouncing off the roof of the van this morning and woke us up!!! hee hee. Yesterday we drove up the west coast for what seemed like forever, we started off and it was quite cloudy and extremely windy. The van was going all over the road, but chris managed to keep it on the road with his good driving skills! We were heading towards Taranaki where there is a massive mountian, basically on an otherwise flat stretch [View Full Entry]

First of all a massively massive thanks for all the messages - its so nice to hear from you and what you have been up to - makes the very slight home sickness go away!!!! Thankyou!!! Yesterday we stumbled accross a meat machine at the side of the road where you could buy salami and bacon mmmmmmmm Right, today we have driven to Picton via Belnheim which is wine country, wineries galore and olive groves everywhere - we obviously had to stop mid morning for a sampling session - oh my god the wine is just amazing - we sampled quite [View Full Entry]

View of the rocks
top of the world
thats the life

Yesterday we went and saw the amazing pancake rocks where the sea was sooo incredibly powerful, the blow hole was a bit of a let down, as it wasnt blowing due to a low tide. We watched the water swirling around and crashing against the massive rocks whcih was really cool. We then were told that the road which we wanted to take North to Nelson was closed -ahhhh so we had to head back to Greymouth and go the longer way around - i think it was because of a land slide - not suprised actually as the roads here [View Full Entry]
