hey everyone we are a little busy at the mo trying to book accommodation for all the places we are going here in california, as it is expensive!!!! it is cheaper to book it on the net. but the big problem is that we do not have great access to net shops here, which is weird, and every accommodation place only offers free wireless!!! WHY DID WE NOT BRING A LaPTOP AROUND THE WORLD???????????????????????????? we so need one right now.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LA was amazing, we saw loads, and having the rental car is class, we would rather be in a ferrari but hey ho the hyundai will do!!!! ledgend. HI ALL. well hawaii seems to keep getting better and better. We've done quite a lot this past week, and the time has flown by, with only 4 days left together. About 5 days ago we did a bus tour that took us around the whole island in one day, seeing all of the sights and visiting pearl harbor, the famous US naval base bombed by the japanese in WW2. The coach picked us up at 6a.m from sandi and al's hotel, so me and soph slept the night on the pull out sofa bed in their room. thankfully sandi kept her snoring to a minimum!!!!! The first stop was pearl harbor, just outside of honolulu. It was unreal!!!! They had a museum there, and a memorial out in the harbor, over the top of the ... read more

Hello all. How are all my good and dear friends keeping? I am doing swell thank you, other than the fact that there hasn't been any swell in Maui for like a month, and the only waves i have seen are from people across the street saying hi....Other than that i have had a pretty super week. Our lecturer this week is our base director, Tom. He is a serious legend. He knows almos everything, but is the humblest guy on earth. We learnt a ton. We have two weeks left now. This week the work load in terms of reading has dropped drastically which has been nice. It has given us a chance to breath, and spend more time in thought, prayer, and hanging out with each other. We still have had work, but it ... read more

This photo is taken on Waikiki Beach, Oahu. We took a day trip from Maui to Honolulu on Oahu. Famous for Pearl Harbour and Waikiki Beach and the most populated of all the islands, it's far more commercial than Maui where we stayed. First stop from Honolulu airport is Pearl Harbour to beat the rush. Arriving at the museum there's already a bit of a queue but the ticket we get telling us the time we need to line up to take the boat accross to the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial gives us plenty of time to take the audio tour through the museum. There is a really in depth and interesting exhibition detailing the lead-up to the attack, the decision of the base commander to line all the ships together and all planes wing-tip to wing-tip ... read more

ALOHA, hello all, well we have arrived and the flight was fine, we were a bit uncomfortable but we slept in the end. I was able to ask them for a front row seat for mart so he could have his foot further stretched out than usual, so that was good too. It was still annoyed though as he had this old woman leaning on him etc. we did laugh though. some people they just dont care do they?? So met up with the folks as soon as we arrived out of the airport as we were not allowed to check in until 3. bit of a bummer as all we wanted was a shower and to get marts cast looked at and get him some cruches. So met mum dad sharon and john at there ... read more

Aloha :) I stayed at Hawaii islands for a month and first I stayed for 2 weeks in Waikiki, which is part of Honolulu on Oahu Island. A very touristic place and heaps of hotels, souvenir shops and restaurants and even a decent beach :) I had cut my toe in Fiji and had to relax and let if heal fully before being able to enjoy the place fully, but even slightly injured, Waikiki is a good place to be at :) Big Island, also known as Hawai'i, was my second island, since after 2 weeks of Waikiki it was really time to move on, hehe. I went to the top of Mauna Kea mountain (old volcano) and saw the observatories, sunset and stars. Went also to top of Mauna Loa volcano with its sulfur spewing ... read more

This photo is taken at the top of the Haleakala Crater This was the main part of our honeymoon and what a brilliant island it is. When we first booked our trip of San Francisco-Hawaii- Los Angeles I thought Hawaii would be purely sitting by the pool with the other cities being the activities and sightseeing. Hawaii obviously is beautiful with idylic white sands, clear blue seas and glorious sunshine but there is also so much to do. Yes we spent a lot of time, sitting by the pool, drinking cocktails and swimming but some of the sightseeing is brilliant. Snokelling as you might expect is ace as your catamaran skims beside spinner dolphins en-route before you have the opportunity to swim with turtles, eels, octopus and other multi-coloured fish that make you feel like your ... read more

The long awaited (+ much talked about)trip to Hawaii. Part 1. I have to say the plane flight of 8 hrs from Tokyo was a surprise - you forget how far away from everywhere these islands are ! But the descent over Oahu was awesome, big volcanoes and beautiful coast with sandy beaches and clear water - what else can I say ! The trip through airport security was 'tight' and obviously a British guy with 2 young kids - an obvious and huge terrorist threat (Yuki was fine with her Japanese passport - how unfair), so we were subjected to a lengthy second security check, which included shoes (again) and a complete bag check and tamp down - I was worried, would they find the anti-american propoganda on my laptop (a copy of 'Team America- ... read more
