Apologies - currently unable to restore. If you have a backup please edit this entry and save/publish. There is a small possibility that this entry will be restored - only small. So finally I get to catch up with the weekend that was Disney. We had our first flight with Southwest Airlines which was suprisingly good. Cheasper than Easyjey and much more enjoyable. We managed to save a further wad of cash by working out how to use the public busses ontop of the money we saved in Washington thanks to Vicky. When we finally got the the hotel we were suitably suprised. It was large and very nice and about 5 mins walk to Downtown Disney, plus it had its own pool. The first night we spent relaxing on our balcony after having bought a ... read more

Arisa is off hunting Eastern Diamondback Rattlers up in the panhandle, Midori is on vacation and I still have two days of work left before we head off to Panama. Who has the exciting life here?? We are planning to have no plan as we visit Costa Rica and Panama for a month together and then I will stay another two weeks to surf El Salvador. We are travelling ultralight with only small backpacks and two massive surfboards. At least the packs will be easy to get around. I feel the usual excitement of heading out to unknown places and the fear of the unknown is always tough to get a handle on. I spoke Spanish last year, but have forgotten most of it. So I know that the airport will be fun with all ... read more

Day 16 – Tuesday – Orlando, Florida Ahhhh SEA WORLD!!! It was another packed day of walking, fun and frolicks. After Disney the day before though, we did try and take it a little bit easier. We took in a few shows - a Dolphin/Whale/Bird one which was just amazing as well as (of course) the Killer Whale/Shamu "Believe" show which was incredibly corny but still wonderous. I LOVE those animals! We also managed to get round to all the exhibits - all the usuals - crocs/dolphins/sharks/polar bears etc and a few cool ones like the walrus's, manatees and belugas. We rode the Journey to Atlantis ride twice (Sea World's version of Spash Mountain). We did ok the first time, but second time round ended up as soaked as you would if you were to ... read more

Day 15 – Monday – Orlando, Florida Ahhhhh DISNEYWORLD!!!! Well as much as I was looking forward to Disneyworld...I have to admit i've been very lucky and spoilt and this was my third Disney experience (Disneyland in LA with mum & dad when I was 14 and Dean, Kate & I did Disneyland in Hong Kong last year). For Jen & John however it was their first time!!! That being said, we had an absolute hoot. It was of course bigger and with a wholllle heap more rides than Hong Kong so that added to the excitement, as well as J&J being absolute kids and excited! Dean & I had trouble keeping up with them! Dean was extremely dubious as he is not in to Disney at all, and didnt particularly enjoy Hong Kong Disney. ... read more

We arrived at our hotel, Disney’s Yacht Club, which was brilliant! We got ourselves checked in and into our rooms pretty quickly: they must have thought we were staying for at least a month with all the bags we had! (15 of them!). Our room was awesome, good AC, t.v. (with a cartoon only channel!), bathroom, hot water and a patio. Mum and dad’s room had a small glitch in that it was right opposite the laundry room and thus had a very noisy fan blowing cold air at there door constantly but they did receive visits from both wild ducks and rabbits, so you cant have it all! (we did offer to swap with them but they politely declined our offer and we didn’t push it!) The hotel was situated right on the boardwalk ... read more

Well not too much has happenned the past two days...we drove pretty much for two full days to get from Washington DC to Orlando, with a night in Columbia. That being said...life with us is ALWAYS interesting hahaha so here goes... Day 12 – Saturday – Columbia, Georgia We had an early start to get out of Washington DC, and you can understand from previous blogs we weren't to bothered with having to leave it behind us! Jen's way cool navigational skills to get us to leave the city however DID (accidentally) take us past the Pentagon which was way cool!! Jen & I also called an emergency stop off the interstate to go in to Macy's and buy some bling bling (they had a mothers day sale on we'd seen advertised, and half a ... read more

Orlando was surprisingly great. We had next to no interest in amusment parks, thus we were far from the regular Orlando tourists. Our main reason for going there in the first place was because it is an ideal location for day trips around Florida, but we didn't really want anything to do with Orlando itself. Then we met our couchsurfing hosts, Jeff, and Jason. These guys lived in an amazing little neighborhood tucked away in Winter Park where you would never expect it. There was spanish moss hanging from the Oaks covering the brick road. They were right next to a lake, and they were the coolest, rad-est, most wickedist hosts. Jeff was a super mellow fellow who is currently prepping to go on a bicycle trip across the states, building houses with Habitat for ... read more

Coffee: Nectar of the Gods It's Tuesday Morning and I am sitting in Volcanoes Coffee Shop enjoying a mocha and some free wireless internet before I head off to some not-so-faraway lands (the Caribbean just doesn't feel far away compared to Asia or Europe or some other exotic place) to begin my new job as a videographer for Carnival Cruise Lines. I leave from Miami this Sunday....omigosh that's in five days! Although the Caribbean didn't seem as exciting as some of the other cruises I've heard of, my boss Teo has kept me excited with enticing stories of hiking waterfalls, state-of-the-art gym facilities (does any one know what Hydraulics means?), and little side comments like, "Carnival helps all AV (video) staff get their diver's license for all the underwater videography you'll be doing, but, of course ... read more

Hey everyone, sorry the Wishes video cannot be uploaded. Unfortunately the file is much too large. I've spent a lot of time by the pool today trying to compress the file but the video hosting website won't allow such a huge file. Really sucks...the video is awesome. But I've print screened photos of the fireworks. We are no longer at the Amerihost Inn. Their swimming pool wasn't heated so we moved for our last day. We are at the Golden Link in Kissimmee just down the street from the Amerihost Inn. Here we've got a heated pool which Maya has been dying to go swimming and since we are so far away from all the amazing Florida beaches the heated pool at the Golden Link will have to do. Cause after all, who the heck goes ... read more

Ok....everyone is feeling much better now. What a relief. So this is a continuation of Magic Kingdom. I saved Magic Kingdom for the last park because I heard it's the best. I did a lot of research before going to Disney World to make sure that we'd end our Disney adventure on the most magical of notes for Maya. So the last day of Disney was thoroughly planned out long before we even left Milton. We started out the day like I mentioned before at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique where Maya had a princess makeover. We almost didn't get the chance to do this princess thing either because before we left, I read somewhere online that the Boutique was inside Magic Kingdom. So being the planner that I am, looked around Magic Kingdom for the Boutique ... read more
