Orlando was the second stop on tour where we had a lengthy three night stay. So since we did Magic Kingdom yesterday, today we could go to one other section of Disneyworld. We woke up and all got ready for a day of awesome thrills. We all met at reception but still hadn’t actually decided on which park we were going to. Most of us were thinking the future themed Epcot Centre but then Elaine really wanted to go to MGM Studios. We bought tickets for the shuttle bus at reception, the bus went to all the theme parks then back here again. Eventually after waiting a while the bus came and we were on our way. After a short drive we arrived at the Epcot centre and all got off except for Elaine, that’s when ... read more

We all got up and got ready quite quickly today, maybe because everyone was looking forward to what was planned. We jumped in the van, disconnected the trailer and arrived at the Kennedy Space Centre around 9:30am. We first had look at different rockets which had previously been used on various space missions, there was also an escape pod and a ramp the astronaughts walk on to get into their ship. The weather was pretty shocking today so there was barely anyone at the Space Centre. After we walked around the rocket we headed to a rocket launch simulation which was quite good. It would have been a massive line to get in on a busy day because it took ages to actually get there from the start of the line, but lucky for us ... read more

Got woken up by Sara today telling us we had 10 minutes before we needed to leave. I was a bit confused then realised that I’d set my alarm for 7:00am when that was actually the time we were leaving. Hannah and I packed our stuff and barely got ready before we had to get going, we had a massive day of driving today, another 500 miles. Around lunch time we stopped off at an alligator farm in the everglades. It was pouring rain yet we still walked around the enclosures and got to see some of them being fed. The guide was telling us all about them and as he fed them more and more kept popping their head above the water. We continued around to a seating area where the guy brought out various ... read more

Wednesday 13.9: 4 hour drive up to Kathryn's place in Kissimmee - quiet evening. Thursday 14.9: Did the "tourist thing" and spent most of the day sightseeing on International Drive in Orlando; Kathryn was very busy with work! I spent late afternoon on the golf driving range at the back of Kathryn's home. ' Still can't get used to going outdoors and feel as though I'm walking into an oven - temperatures up in the 90s F. and very humid. Friday 15.9: 'Dove up to Wakiwa Springs (a national reserve north of Orlando) and went down the Wakiwa River in a kayak with Kathryn - the water was so clear we could see the fish, turtles, otters and lots of other wildlife; we were told there were many allegators there but we did not come across ... read more

Having lived in Sunny Florida (its absolutely pissing down at the moment) for pretty close to 10 months now we thought it was time to check out the No 1 holiday destination in the US - the theme parks at Orlando. There are an absolute plethora of theme parks to visit in Orlando - Disney has six parks by itself, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Disney-MGM Studios, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Then you have the two Universal Parks - Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, plus Seaworld, Wet n' Wild and our personal favorite - Holy Land! (I'm serious - check it out at http://www.theholylandexperience.com/). So needless to say we had plenty to choose from. On our last visit to Orlando we had sat through the Timeshare sales pitch that seems to plague popular tourist ... read more

Hey all. Another update with pics for you! I went to the Kennedy Space centre today where they actually launch rockets and, probes and man missions into space. Located at Cape Canaveral, it was a costly venture ($89) but pretty cool. Had an early start, got up at 6:30am to get ready to be the pick up point at 7:30, well a bit before actually just to make sure. Turns out the guy was 20 mins late - my curse strikes again. A van ride and pick ups later we transfer to a porper bus that takes on a scenic drive through florida to the centre. We stop first at the Hall of Fame that has a couple of simulators and exhibts. I went on the g-force simulator, you get about 4 G's on it spinning ... read more

Hey Well first thing to say is photos are now up!!! Tha gallery seems to be limiting me so all photos are now in the blogs except the first lot. The gallery has all my pics in Toronto and niagara falls before the 1st camera was lost but the blogs have all the pics from New York from the new camera onwards. So what is there to say? Didn't do much more in South Beach. Its a good place to do bugger all basically. You can go to the beach anytime of the day or night (which I did), eat at whatever time, drink in a place and just chill. It a chill place. They do have shops inclduing designer but not much in terms of sights or activites. I did do up the top end ... read more

The luxury of space is something that I take full advantage of daily. I have an oversized room, with a nice large bed all to myself. I have a closet that occupies all of my clothes, shoes, and many accessories. My bathroom has plenty of cabinet space, allowing for my entire make up storage. But as my time for travel draws closer and closer, packing becomes more of a problem. With the maximum weight allowed per passenger on the flight being 100lbs, including books. I have begun to wish I were I guy. Yes, for if I was a guy I would not need to travel with make up, tons of accessories, nor feminine products Which doesn’t sound like it’s difficult to pack for. However deciding on which eye shadows to bring for four months, does ... read more

-----.............watch video hey every1, Carrie here, So if you've been to Florida before you know that you really need a holiday when you get back, everything is exhausting.......When we arrived into Orlando it was about 3 o'clock and after getting our packs that seem to be getting bigger by the day we went straight outside for a taxi, 5 mins away from the air-con and we could already feel the sweat running down our faces. We arrived at The Best Western Plaza on International Drive and after checking in arrived at our room, its so great being able to unpack for 2 weeks, our room has 2 hugh double beds, TV, large bathroom and dressing area (we are now used 2 bunk beds and 8-10 other people sharing our room) It really is a luxury not ... read more

I am an American, and I learned that quickly after my trip to Colombia. My roots though grounded in Colombia have grown and flourished in the states. I am grateful for so many wonderful memories, and the experiences that will remain with me. And one day, I’ll return , but now with a more vivid idea of what to expect. ... read more
