The One About Catching up AGAIN!! Gosh how time flies! I can’t believe my 2 weeks here is almost up. The days have settled into a pleasant routine which includes walking Winston, eating, cleaning the RV, eating, riding my bike, eating, you get the idea. Despite all the eating breaks, I have not gained any weight. My pants still fit the same as they did when I started the trip, which is NOT good, I need to lose weight before I go back to the MD in May. Lots of random thoughts and events will follow. Garbage is an issue here at TT Orlando. There is a green dumpster positioned in front of each rest room where campers deposit their own trash. The dumpsters are emptied twice a week. The dumpster in my area is often ... read more

It was another Sea World day today. Kat and I decided to do another day at Sea World since there was more to see and our pass gets us in for free. When we got into the park I wanted my picture taken by the light house so we were lining up the shot so Kat could take it when this wonderful man came along and asked if he could take both of us. How could we refuse.. It turned out that he was a photographer who was employed by Sea World to sell pictures. Well he did a fine job with my instant camera and we got a picture of both of us. Our plan was to head to the dolphin show at 10am then get over to the Shamu theater for the 12 noon ... read more

Happy Birthday Lisa! I left the shade up on the big back window last night and watched the stars before falling asleep. Then during the night I looked out and there was the moon, with Jupiter? Near it. I grabbed the camera and wanted to catch the moon, stars and the naked cypress trees but it didn’t happen. It was a beautiful sight and in my mind’s eye. When dawn did come it was bright and red but then the clouds gathered and it rained a little. I wanted to launch my kayak today so Oscar and I walked down to the lake and it was very windy. So I postponed a little. Then at 11 I just had to do it wind or not. So I inflated the boat and put it in the car ... read more

Blog 02-18-13 Boy, was it cold last night! I was toasty warm inside with my electric heater and half way through the night Oscar came in under the covers so I was Really warm. First picture of the day is the picnic table covered with frost, it was 35 degrees. The sun came up and was brilliant, so it warmed up everything really fast. By 11 am it was 73 degrees, the air so bright and clear it made you feel all new and alive. It was going to be cleaning day. The camper is not much to clean but it sure gets dirty fast. I got the laundry ready to go and headed off to the Laundromat just a 2 min walk up the street. Got 2 loads going, my sheets included, and sat outside ... read more

The One About Freeze Warnings and Watches One Son reads the blog, Valentine card$ received and money spent already. It got so cold Saturday night/early Sunday morning. When I got up it was 40 degrees outside and frost on the ground. It was a beautiful morning, crystal clear, no breeze, just COLD! Has my blood thinned???? Am I becoming a frail southern girl? My electric heater worked all night long, keeping the interior temp at 58. Brrrr. Despite the early morning chill, Moya heats up nicely. I have an unobstructed exposure to the sun all day long, so as soon as it comes up, the inside temperature goes up to 70 despite what the outside is. No need for heat. Breaking camp with Ginnie was sad, but, by golly, between the 3 of us we got ... read more

Beach Boys Concert It was a beautiful morning and after great coffee Oscar and I walked to the lake for a look see. You never know what might be lurking about. I saw an immature bald eagle at the far end of the lake just souring around, and some black vultures who are ever present almost anywhere you look. There was a family fishing on the dock and sure enough, they were rewarded with a catfish. Pictures and great excitement then the fish got to live another day. I visited with a woman who is a full time rver with her husband. They lived in Ontario and have made one trip to Washington state, Vancouver and back across Canada. They just came back from spending 2 weeks in the Keys, loved it, and will be in ... read more

The One About Never Too Old to Rock And Roll, and other things Happy Belated Valentine’s Day!!! I just realized I never wished that on Thursday! Duh. Note: start sarcasm here: Just wondering if my grandkids got the card$ I sent them…..end sarcasm here. Uh huh. Guess we will find out who reads this and who doesn’t, right? It was a glorious morning!! I was up and out early, using my newly opened app runtastic (but they should call it walktastic for me) I did 1.3 miles in 30 minutes. Remember, this is Winston’s walk, not mine. He gets to smell everything he wants on this walk, and he sure does. I counted six hot air balloons in the sky at once, but never got a good enough angle for a good picture. The weather reports ... read more

Valentine’s Day then an Air Boat Ride Yesterday was a rainy day, our first since I arrived several weeks ago. It was actually refreshing to hear the drops on the camper and smell the air with so much moisture. Oscar and I hunkered down in the camper all morning, watched tv, read a book, straightened up a little and just relaxed. We had plans for dinner, there is a meal at 5 and then dancing in the rec hall for Valentine’s Day. We were served stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, a delightful roll and a red velvet cupcake, all for $8. Then the music started, a d j , playing the oldies. There were lots of people dancing and we were singing, a great time had by all. Today dawned rainy again ... read more

The One About the Air Boat Ride It was pouring when I went to bed last night. I love the sound of rain on Moya’s roof. I sure am getting used to lazy mornings. I slept until 7:30. Winston woke me up happy and wagging and raring to go. The rain had stopped, but it was overcast and almost misty. I have a new app on my iPhone, runtastic PRO. I got a coupon for a free download, and did it, I think it’s one of those $2.99 apps. ((I did get a step counter for Christmas from Tim & Gret, but it kept jamming and not counting my steps, and the clip was weak and it kept falling off my pants. It fell off one day and I stepped on it and it was dead.)) ... read more

The one about the ants going bye bye I goofed yesterday. I posted the wonderful picture of Ginnie with her Campers Love Happy Hour T shirt, and didn’t give Kathy credit for it. Sorry, Kathy. Thanks for sharing it with us. It started to rain last night and rained off and on all day. Bummer. The weather has been beautiful since I started my trip this year. This area has been in a drought for years. I can’t begrudge them some rain; but I hope it stops tomorrow. The temperature has dropped as well. It was 86 yesterday, although Kathy said she saw 93 on her thermometer. It didn’t get to 70 today, and it’s supposed to go down to 39 Saturday night. Brrrrrr. I continued to do putzy things around Moya today. I put out ... read more
