Happy Birthday Lisa!
I left the shade up on the big back window last night and watched the stars before falling asleep. Then during the night I looked out and there was the moon, with Jupiter? Near it. I grabbed the camera and wanted to catch the moon, stars and the naked cypress trees but it didn’t happen. It was a beautiful sight and in my mind’s eye.
When dawn did come it was bright and red but then the clouds gathered and it rained a little. I wanted to launch my kayak today so Oscar and I walked down to the lake and it was very windy. So I postponed a little. Then at 11 I just had to do it wind or not. So I inflated the boat and put it in the car through the roof and drove to the lake to launch. Kat was going to meet me there for moral support but something held her up so I put the boat in the water and carefully sat on it then swung my legs over so I was comfortable and ready to go. Some people there said how much alligators loved inflatable boats and I
said “Well, they’ll have a fight with me.” That settled things a bit and I paddled through the lily pads and weeds into the lake. There was a head wind, thought it best to go into the wind and coast back. I went all the way to the left and around the corner where I hadn’t been before and discovered an old house and lots of water birds.
I floated around there for a while, stalked a flock of cow egrets, listened to the critters, smelled the air and just enjoyed being on the water. I headed home because Kat and I were going out to lunch.
We settled on a new restaurant, Sweet Tomatoes, and were more than pleasantly surprised. For $8.95 you got an all you can eat buffet salad bar, soup bar, bread, muffins and pizza and to top it off they had dessert of a warm brownie with fudge inside and ice cream with sauce on top. We have to go there again.
Then we watched last weeks Survivor and I went home and took Oscar for a walk and settled down to read my book outside. I talked to several of my
neighbors today and heard more stories of people’s lives.
I haven’t written my blog for a few days so I’ll catch up now.
Sunday Ginnie left for another campground, we really miss her.
Tuesday I played golf for the first time this winter. I played at the Legends Golf Course which was a very nice course but very busy and VERY slow play. I enjoyed the round and did well for the first time out this year.
Then Kat and I went to Olive Garden for dinner. We got in just before the crowd and our dinner was delicious.
Tomorrow we are going back to Sea World so I can see the dolphin show and hopefully the Shamu Show. Up early and get going. Love Florida!
