Great Britain, holds the history of once being the most powerful nation in the world. Although this status has long since passed, there are few areas of the country where evidence of this former glory are absent. Relics of an industrial past dot the landscape, and expansive stately homes display the profits reaped both at home and abroad.

Although famed for it's rain, the British climate is temperate, with mild winters and pleasant summers. The British countryside offers a taste of both the quaint and the unkempt, and provides opportunities for various outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing and pot-holing.

Britain's cities are vibrant and exciting, with long and diverse histories of development, historic buildings and stunning modern architecture.

We have almost the same picture of Bill in Paris
Hey I got a whole day with Bill (WOOHOO). Once we finished breakfast and some life chores like laundry, we did what we do best, we went shopping. We trekked all over the city and found a few good bargains and some things that weren’t bargains but we had to have anyway. It was a fun filled day in deed. Bill has this sixth sense to find the gay clothing shops and other things. After a long hard day of shopping we went to see Billy Elliot. This was a truly great show, although I didn’t get all the references, some [View Full Entry]

MB & TEDDY

Bill is back at soccer today and I should go since this may be their last day, but I didn’t quite make it there. Rather than soccer, I spent the day at Parliament, Westminster and Fat Pig. I had to go see it because it has Kris Marshall in it and he is just adorable. It was a fun show and there are definitely a lot of laugh out loud moments. In spite of having a couple of good games today, Jet City Strikers did not prevail. This is the end of the tournament for them. Well at happy hour tonight [View Full Entry]

Day 2. We. Are. Tired. To catch up- we left Dulles Tuesday eve on a red eye, arriving at 7:00 am into Heathrow. The flight was pretty bumpy, and they turned the lights on at 5:15 am. Needless to say, I sleep not much, and Tim slept through the whole thing. You will see that this is a pattern as we travel. We got to our hotel around 9, and Tim stayed in the lobby to check email, arrange meetings and change. I put on my sneakers and starting walking. I almost slept walked through Hyde Park, and considered sleeping in [View Full Entry]

aww, just hanging out on my bed together.
Well, it's bedtime now, 11:15 pm here. I'm still a little messed up on the times for sleeping, waking up, etc. I have an annoying habit of waking up at 3AM here so I thought I'd stay up longer tonight in hopes to sleep 'normally'. to make sure we are fully acquainted with everyone talked about in this blog - here is the breakdown: Dave - dad Lynne - mom luke - 17 yr old son of dave's (who, by the way, does his own thing) Alex - 9 Rhiannon - 5 I am not feeling too homesick as of yet, [View Full Entry]

writing this in Amsterdam. Got up ultra early in the morning to beat people to the free internet! The day started well, got on the metro fine, made it to Newcastle with plenty of time, got to the train alright and then the wheel on my suitcase broke. This is going to be an interesting 20days. When I got off the train, I quickly noticed how difficult it was going to be with one wheel. I got to the hotel alright, but completely exhausted and sweaty due to the half hour walk dragging a 20kg suitcase. I don't know how [View Full Entry]

Really just a diary entry. Window delivery arranged for Tuesday 26th, so continued with stuffing and trimming, continual use of hedge trimmers seems to have given me tennis elbow or something similar. Sometimes I think my body will give up the ghost before we get this thing finished, I seem to be continually knackered. Anyway after my last brief return home it was back to Tombreck. Wendy's parents arrrived on the Monday evening they were up for a few days with a couple of friends (Brom and Hilary). Unfortunately by the time they returned on the Tuesday I had been struck [View Full Entry]

So I want to start this with a little shout out to my ladies Susan and Michelle. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR VISITING, also I have decided that if anyone else comes via Gatwick airport I will splurge for the cab to and from Victoria. . . . I AM SO SORRY. I hope you're legs aren't too terribly bruised. Victoria Station is not a handicap friendly station so there are no ramps and no lifts. . . only stairs. . . lots of stairs. So any kind of luggage is a horrible horrible time. But, the ladies showed up on [View Full Entry]

Hi Everyone, thought I'd start off the blog letting you all know about the safari I went on the other day down Regent Road. Saw 4 of the Big 5, often spotted in the summer months frequenting Yarmouth seafront. Cockneys, Brummies, overweight fellow with ice cream dripping onto his ill fitting wife beater and Keith Miller from Eastenders. Unfortunately we didn't catch a glimpse of the teenage mother with 5 children each of different ethnic origin, but still a good day. Next Stop, Heathrow. [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone! So, I have safely arrived in Scotland. The flight was long and I didn't sleep at all. It was nice and quiet though, which was nice considering there was a 5 year old boy in front of me. I watched episodes of The Office and Two and a Half Men on the headrest and the movie Definitely, Maybe, which was really cute. I also was able to see my plane track across the Atlantic on a map on the headrest. I watched the sunrise out of my window, and I swear you can see the curve of the Earth [View Full Entry]
