United Kingdom Travel Blogs

Great Britain, holds the history of once being the most powerful nation in the world. Although this status has long since passed, there are few areas of the country where evidence of this former glory are absent. Relics of an industrial past dot the landscape, and expansive stately homes display the profits reaped both at home and abroad.

Although famed for it's rain, the British climate is temperate, with mild winters and pleasant summers. The British countryside offers a taste of both the quaint and the unkempt, and provides opportunities for various outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing and pot-holing.

Britain's cities are vibrant and exciting, with long and diverse histories of development, historic buildings and stunning modern architecture.

Keenen Family Blog: Just a random day for the Keenen Family. Not much to report, but a small day out at teacup island. Not very tropical, its merely a lake with a pub on an island in the middle. Not to discredit it too much, it is the location of the guiness book of world's record holding "the most teapots in one place" award. We took a drive on a domesday bridge. The Domesday book was the first major census in the British Isles, and was more comprehensive than current census's, as properties such as farms, mills, bakeries and other industry [View Full Entry]

Guard Maddy.
Guard Maddy.
I don't think I'd have the right attention span to be a guard.
Hi guys! Well, Scotland was wonderful, and being reunited with electronics is awesome. I can't decide which one I like better... nah, just kidding! We travelled for hours and hours but in the end we got to our destination, Edinburgh. But while we were travelling, we passed a town called Carluke. My dads name is Carl Luke. Scary. We stopped to take photos and then travelled on. The first night we got put in the late arrivals. It wasn't that bad though. The next day we all had a bit of a rest day. All exept Albert and Dad. They had [View Full Entry]

Sally who inspired me to visit Chile in the beginning and inspired me to make this forthcoming trip.
For the past month or so, there was uncertainty whether I would be going to Chile or not. There is a lot happening in my life including my health problems and various issues. There were times that I simply wanted to cancel my trip. With a lot of thinking and praying, I decided now to go ahead with my trip and adjusted my itinerary. The plan now is to head to Southern Chile on the following day of my arrival instead of spending the first few days in Santiago. I spent a month in Santiago last year and I am more [View Full Entry]

Last night we went out to the Victoria Art Gallery with the whole ASE staff. We got to meet our professors thought only one of mine was there. My Shakespeare in performance teacher is Ruth Hazel. She seems very nice but I am still a lil nervous about the class in general. I am no theater person and there are at least 3 theater majors in my class. It was great getting to go around and look at the fantastic art that they have in Bath. I have been having a great time up in the Northamptons though with my wonderful [View Full Entry]

This is a short blog on what I call : the conspiracy of hate mongers - dark people - free masons- controllers... who hate the light..who trade freedoms for security- fear for liberty- human dignity and common sense for fascist ideologies that oppress and denigrate individual rights and self determination... It is a universal law that where there is a vacuum ... power will try to control or fill it with something new... it is likened to water draining into the sand- an alpha male fighting an alpha male- for dominance... a corporate takeover bid.. but when this conspiracy enters our [View Full Entry]

Saturday 30st August And so it begins - the nostalgic last ever ferry to Norway complete with stragglers on the shore waving the Norwegian flag and a captain blasting the loudest horn I've ever heard the entire passage out the Tyne - honked like a man who will not get the opportunity again, which of course he won't. I am typing this on my eeePC looking out at the Tyne and Newcastle disappearing behind me, together with the setting sun. I haven't quite gotten my sea legs yet so perhaps typing now is a bit premature - in fact if this [View Full Entry]

Argentina vs. UK
Argentina vs. UK
Argentina and Stonewall in the final game
Today was the last day of the soccer tournament. The girl’s team from Texas won their division and the men’s Stonewall Team from the UK took the men’s. We also discovered a little whole in the wall Indian restraint in Leyton that was pretty damn good. The games were good although the men’s Argentina team had a rough day and were definitely a bit off their game. I do have to say that even though Argentina was a bit off their game, their footwork was still impressive. After spending most the day watching soccer and getting back and forth to the [View Full Entry]

Oxford...

 Europe » United Kingdom
We both woke up with butterflies in our stomach as it was finally the day when we go to Oxford. All these months of anticipation and wondering were finally going to be satisfied in a matter of hours. Jeremy was so sweet and drove us all the way to Oxford which saved us a good sixty or seventy dollars each plus a ton of hassle because we both over packed like crazy. Stupid Americans. When we arrived into Oxford I think chiming bells went off and little fat angels flew around our heads, it was amazing. The city itself is not [View Full Entry]

Well, more or less. It's taken 6 weeks, but I'm finally feeling human again, ie not exhausted at 10 pm every night. Work is beginning to make sense - about time, really. The complete lack of blogs (or communication, for that matter) is entirely due to this imposition on my time and energy, motivated by my compulsive greed. I joke - if I were motivated by greed, I would be doing umm... something where I can make lots of money. Like charge for this blog. Ahem. That's me for now - I want more music! Mon is well - she has [View Full Entry]

August 27 - Off to Inverness (Geoff) Well, it was time to leave Edinburgh and head north to Inverness. left about 10.00 am so the traffic was not a great problem. Still took about 20 minutes to clear the city and get onto the A9 but once there it was set the cruise control and away we were. Stopped off in Perth (sounds strange doesn't it?) for some morning tea and a short bit of retail therapy - strange how I was the only one who bought anything - thought that was Sue's job! Off on the road again but only [View Full Entry]
