Hello one and all, moved over to Innsbruck on Tuesday. Great train ride, very comfortable :) Today is Thursday 22 May, just using a little spare time I have before I catch a bus to another attraction! Arrived at my hotel and I told Amy that I am competing with her tiny room at the backpackers in Hamilton she uses when on her Vet Nursing block courses! The tiny room happened to be at the front of the hotel which in Aldstadt and the buildings are about 20m apart. I was on the 5th floor and didn't have a good sleep as voices travel up and echo into my room all night and I mean alllllll night! Just when night revellers had all gone home, I was woken at 5.30am by the "street" (really it is ... read more

From Munich we went on to Innsbruck, this was a lovely city and had a pretty great view from the town centre. There we saw the Royal Palace and Immperial Church, we saw the Golden roof at sunset and it was very pretty. We then went to the Swarovski Crystal place and had tour, thats where i spent a lot of euro, but as I went to pay I spoke in German and the cashier thought I WAS German and asked me where in Germany I was from, so I thought that was pretty great. We then did some more exploring and then went to the hotel for the night, we went down to the bar and tried some of the local Farmers Schnaps, and it burnt my throat on the way down. Then tried some ... read more

14 de marzo de 2004 The English version is below Aunque hoy me marcho a Austria, vuelvo a dormir a Munich.

Our flight out on Sunday was cancelled thanks to the fog at Heathrow and we spent the night at the lovely Sheraton Skyline, right across from the runway. While annoyed that our trip was about 18 hours behind schedule, the Heathrow hotel had the Pats game on satellite, which was a nice bonus. When we went back to the airport on Monday morning, it was total chaos...thousands of people everywhere, many of them slept there overnight...we were lucky to check in in time and make it through to the gate. Our flight had only minor delays, but thankfully we made it to Munich airport by 11:00 am. After picking up our rental car (Evan had a lot of fun with an Audi on the Autobahn) we got to Innsbruck mid-afternoon on Christmas eve, and spent a ... read more

Today I went to my first Christmas market! It was fun, but it was really, really cold. A cold that actually just settled into my bones and it was snowing so it was blowing into my face the entire time. I feel like my toes are just thawing out. But Innsbruck is a really pretty city, but basically just a lot of shopping. So the Christmas market is basically just crafts, food, and your basic market "junk". But I did have "chestnuts roasted on an open fire" which were actually really delicious! I went with my roommate and another girl so we just kinda shopped around all day. It really started to put me in the mood for Christmas! There were lights up all over the city. The train ride into the city was beautiful. ... read more

Well it has been a while since the last entry and even since we were in Innsbruck. I will try to remember all the events to date and if I miss anything I'm sure one of the boys will fill me in. After 10 days in the Munich area we headed back to Austria and stayed in a very cramped room in our hostel. It was no bigger than a broom closet. Ev and I decided to hike along one of the mountains so we left Shaun and Finno behind and caught the cable car up to start our 4 hour journey. We started off walking along nice flat terrain but as there was a difference of about 500m altitude (made that up) we knew we had some climbing to do either there on on the ... read more
