Innsbruck is a very beautiful town with the moutain backdrop. but, that's about it. Maybe coz I didn't get up to the mountains here, which is a pity. It was Sunday, so everything was closed basically. The big sights promoted weren't really big, so.......I guess I dunno this city well enough to say anything. Pretty dull day for me...=! ... read more

Hey all, I am once again very very behind so this will proberly be a fair long update! Sorry about that…. So hear we are in Austria now and have been for 11 nights and tonight is going to be our last before heading to Switzerland tomorrow. The city that we first visited here was Salzburg just on the border with Germany and is a very nice city. It has two parts, like most, an old and new city area so we mainly just cruised around the old part checking out the old churches, buildings and the markets along the river which Kylie really liked! Also we went and had a quick look at where Mozart was born with a couple of thousand tourists as well so didn’t hang around long here. Above the city is ... read more

Darnit, the keyboards here are different, the z and y are switched and 's and such are in all sorts of places. Plus, I created an entry but it got deleted! Anyway, John and I landed at the Munich Airport at 5:50am after a very long flight. We spent at least 30 mins trying to figure out how to buy a train ticket to get to the main train center where we would be meeting the rest of the party to go to Oktoberfest. We got there early we just walked the whole station trying all the food. The sausages here really do kick ass!! After finally meeting up with everyone we walked over to one of the tent areas (huge) and preceeded to to drink some really big beers! It was a lot of fun ... read more

20 August So here I am, tour leading - so looking forward to this! Trip code ED14 with Oak Hall. Not had a great deal of sleep since Spain - had a full 12 hours on Saturday night, but then went out to St Nick's Sunday evening, and by the time I'd finished packing it was nearly midnight. I had to be up by 2.45am, to shower and get to Stansted airport for 4.30am - thanks to James McKenna who drove me there! Ensuring that my Oak Hall clothing was on display I stood near the check-in desk, and soon recognised the red Oak Hall tags - so that was the first hurdle over - everyone here, and everyone checked in OK (and considering we were flying with Ryanair/url... read more

With the plan to head through to Austria, it was another early start to reach Innsbruck. Iz and I got the departure time wrong though, and were sitting in our room while everyone else was on the bus - whoops! Thankfully, the owner came looking for the key, found us, and let us know that the bus was ready to go…we got down those stairs fast! It was good to stop after a couple of hours in Liechtenstein - still part of Switzerland. We didn’t expect there to be that much on - after all it was a Sunday morning and BLOODY early, but there was a little bricker brack market, so we took a stroll around that. It was set right below the intimidating castle that peers down from the hill over the town. I ... read more

Finally! The day I’ve been waiting for - white water rafting!!! We got up and left at 7:45. Surprisingly, I didn’t have a hangover! Most people made it on time, but there were a few stragglers today. We drove a while then made a service stop in Lichtenstein. It was a very artsy place. There was art everywhere you looked. Beautiful pictures on the sidewalk, sculptures on every corner. I finally got to try a kebab. I have heard so much about kebabs- and we’ve tried (unsuccessfully) to find an open kebab shop after several late nights! Ha ha. Anyway, a kebab is a sandwich-type thing. It was pretty good, but not as great as I anticipated, given all the hype it received! We got to Austria and the rafting place around 1pm. It was mostly ... read more

Bonjour Mes Amis! How are you? Hope everything is going well with you and I am very glad you are on my travelblog again:) Last week was very tiring for me. How you know, i had my examination period on the faculty of architecture. It was quite long and i had many exams, because i haven't passed the one from descriptive geometry in the last term so I took like two extra courses. But now this all is behind me... I passed all of them and the most difficult one from civil engineering I passed on Wednesday. Was soooo happy and most of all i was glad that my vocation, which will be maybe one year long has already started. My friend, Katka, from my primary school came to visit me to Prague and we ... read more
