Tantina

So yesterday started out late, slacked around Southbank, walked to China town to buy cream and nuts! HAAAAA Then had a VERY VERY nice dinner!! We ordered Seafood Platter, Aged Angus Steak and salad.... OMG, this filled the 5 of us up!!! The Seafood was SOOOOOO goood!! Natural Oysters...never liked them much b4 but now.. I LOVE THEM!!! Delicious!!!! there were prawns, crabs, bugs, sashimi, smoked salmon, sushi...etc...so good...soo goood. thanks for the treat really!!! All so full we couldn't even go for dessert......early end of the day. Today, they had to leave for Cairns and dropped me off at the train station to head downtown. Checked in at this hostel.....it was a bad one....the bathrooms werent dirty but the rooms were...and they had report of BEDBUGS!!! freaked me out the whole night...I booked just coz ... read more

So have been in Melbourne for a few days now. Walked around the CBD, went to St. Kilda and Philip Island and went to a Graduation ceremony at U of Mel! The CBD felt a lot like Toronto!!! Chapel St felt a lot like Queens St!!! haa..many nice buildings around the CBD, I like all those Little Streets....haaaa..they had all these nice small stores and cafes! Still, a very buzzling city compared to Perth..and we didn't get much sunshine..=( After the city, took the tram to St. Kilda....and OMG...so windy and cold!!!!! Walked down that one street...it was ok....had a few very small cake shops!!!=P The beach wasn't all that pretty..but at the back of the pier, there was a penguin lookout spot!!!! so cute!!! the Little Penguins hid behind the big rocks waiting for their ... read more

Drunk!!! Got up and had a lazy start... just in time to join the half day Afternoon Delight Tour! quite expensive ne....but i really didn't know what else to do...so joined it anyways... Started off to the Wineries..the first one was Houghton...sth like that... The wine....errrr....we tasted 6.....i only liked 1...3 whites and 3 red....the Classic Blanc (which is basically Burgandy) is the best..the others all are really strong.. This Winery was nice....its the largest of Australia and 2nd oldest of the region... The vineyards were beautiful!! and the pine trees....the purple flowers trees....... That was ok....then next to a smaller winery....sampled 8 wines....again, started with whites..the first 2 was nice....one was Chenin? and the other was a Chardonney,...(ok..excuse for my spelling..)..then i started to get drunk. haaa... Finally arrived!!! 10 hours flight + wait feels LONG!! Anyways, gotta get used to the whole backpacking thing again....too spoil while at home..=P On the flight from Singapore to Perth, got to talk to this old man, which was really nice..but also REALLY talkative. He has travelled ALL OVER Australia and when he looked at my LP, every single palce on the map he commented! haa..really saves me a lot of time reading that book now....^^" Arrived at Perth, liked the airport, love the weather now!! got to the hostel...not a good first impression... They closed down the hot water at night (I arrived at the hostel at 0130)...and the bathroom looks a bit....old. However, the rooms are nice and the atmosphere seems good.... Back home. for more than a yr now. Realized that I haven't even finished my last journey and guess what? already heading to the next. So let me just finish up. After Lisbon, which was a very peaceful 3 days around the city. I was pretty tired by then, just strolled through town, stared at the sea most of the time...wasn't extraordinary excited for me compared to the other stops, but it leaves me a good impression and I do want to discover more from Portugal in the future! It also diminishes my look upon Macau (sadly), colonized is never the same (especially the food! I miss Portuguese food so bad..!!). but hey! Arrived in Leiria and Met Magda and her friends!! They were all so nice!!!! She drove around the outskirts of the city where she lives, very nice countryside!!! Then we had a dinner.....chatted a lot with her friends....very interesting people!!! =) The next day, She drove me to the beach!! WAAAAA!! Huge waves!!!!! great skies!!! very beautiful and bet the summer even better!! SHe has a daughter and she is sooooo cute! trying to teach me Portugese! while playing Monopoly! only numbers and colours she can say in English but its difficult enough that I cannot remember any of what she taught...haaaa! so bad... Woke up so damn early to catch a late ate flight to Porto!!! Had to repack my backpack and everything coz taking that Ryanair flight.... and wah...after that still 17kg!!!!!! at the end ended up with 15.5 kg..passed! haaaaaa but my handluggage was so heavy!! haa..thank god they didnt check that... The plane was delayed for almost 1.5 hours!!!!! coz it was foggy in Madrid this morning... anyways, got to Porto....and its raining!!! and I threw my broken umbrella away to lighten my backpack!!! ARGH.........hope tmr wont pour tho they say its gonna be worst.... Got to a very cozy little hostel!! very ying! then walked out to town... Went to Toledo today with my host and a bunch of other people on CS!!! It was such a nice group! got a very nice guide to guide us around the town. Toledo was the old capital of Spain so there are many nice old buildings and a castle! It was larger than I think and walking around it took a long time! The Sinagoga was very beautiful with a lot of history, the Cathedral was huge and beautiful from the outside BUT, didnt like the idea of paying 8 euros to get in..HAAAA...so I didnt. The alcazar was nice but too bad couldnt get in.....the view around the city was beautiful as well with the river and the green! It was very touristy, but still very beautiful.
