Day 111 (Sunday 09/08/09, NJJ) Up at 9.30am to see the depressing heavy rain outside. Went to the bar next door for the complimentary breakfast. The bar is cool with Canuck posters etc on the walls. The weather hadn't dampened the mood though and we were loving being in Vancouver. We walked across Granville Bridge to Granville Island Public Market. Back over the bridge along Granville St in the opposite direction. Went down to the waterfront and into Gastown. The sun fainlly came out in the afternoon. Day 110 (Saturday 08/08/09, NJJ) The wind and rain kept us awake much of the night. Checked out of the resort. Sat in the restaurant for a time. Had delicious lunch. Lay on sun loungers for ½ hour. After saying bye to everyone our boat left the island at 2pm. Jamie stood for majority of the trip as it was so bumpy that it kept jarring his back. Day 109 (Friday 07/08/09, NJJ) Usual day on the island. Snorkelling together - saw some cool fish. Packed our stuff. Went down to the beach most of the resort esidents for a wedding. Delicious evening meal. Watched a Fijian Island Mexe, a show. Back to the room. Lay in bed for sleep and it started hammering down with rain and was quite windy too. [View Full Entry]

Day 108 (Thursday 06/08/09, NJJ) On the beach all day. Ate lush food. We went snorkelling together in the afternoon and it was great to get back in the sea. I was a bit nervous but got over it in no time. Another beautiful sunset. Had a cocktail served in a coconut shell. We were joined for dinner by a group of rich Kiwis who turned out to be nice enough. We watched the crab race, then the bonfire on the beach being lit before retiring for the night. Day 107 (Wednesday 05/08/09, NJJ) Lay in the sun. Read. Ate delicious food. The sunshine was glorious. Jamie went snorkelling. Watched a beautiful sunset. Drank a cocktail and played cards. After dinner a few of us watched Snatch on the big screen by the pool. [View Full Entry]

Day 106 (Tuesday 04/08/09, NJJ) All meals during the day were delicious. I was in pain as my cuts and grazes were drying up and the skin was tightening. Covered up in sunscreen then spent the day on the beach. Jamie went snorkelling twice today and I watched wishing I could go in. I had two cocktails in the evening to numb the pain. We played cards in the evening and were joined by an American couple who live in NZ. Met some other cool people at dinner. [View Full Entry]

Day 105 (Monday 03/08/09, NJJ) Enjoyed the delicious continental breakfast then down to the beach. Hired snorkelling gear then off into the sea. We had to swim out through a channel as it was low tide and the water over the reef is very shallow and in some places below the reef. We were being very careful not to touch the reef. Then I had cramp and a freak wave knocked me on to the reef. I was panicking as I was stuck on the reef which meant I was touching it, OMG, and it was like being dragged across and [View Full Entry]

Day 104 (Sunday 02/08/09, NJJ) Had to get up at 7.45am for breakfast then we were picked up to move on to Octopus Resort. Got to the marina around 9.30am and onto the boat soon after. The boat trip took 1.5 hours and I felt sea sick although apparently the water is quite calm today. Got to Octopus on Waya Island just after 11.30am. Had a welcome with a juice drink then were shown to our bungalow (basically just a room with a bed in it but it was fab). Lunch at 12.30pm and it was delicious, then off to the [View Full Entry]

Day 103 (Saturday 01/08/09, NJJ) Left the lodge for Auckland airport for our flight to Fiji. In Duty Free we bought our wedding scents - Marc Jacobs Daisy EDP for me, and I made Jay get a new EDT for the wedding day too! Flight was dealyed by about ½ hour. Got to Nadi (pronounced Nandi!) around 5.30pm. There we had to wait in the lingest passport control line I have ever seen. Day 102 (Friday 31/07/09, NJJ) Up at 9am. Brekkie in kitchen. Got a bus in to Onehunga for a wander around the shops then bus back to lodge. I packed my stuff to leave NZ but Jay being so organised did his yesterday. Dinner and then faffed for evening before going to bed at 12.30am. No pics to share as it was quite a boring day.
