After the night of the long pasta wait it was vegemite and cheese sandwiches for breakfast, what a great way to start the day, thanks again for the kilo jar Tash. Anyway, things have been cracking along on the trip. I caught up with Nina in Berlin, I can't remember if I said that already, all the booze and continuous flights are starting to get to my memory. So now I'm in Berlin after the five hour train ride of boredom and it's the day after my dinner with some students from Switzerland who are on a uni trip. It was good to wake up sober but I still can't work out what day it is today and I do have laundry to do. So stolling down stairs for breakfast I got a big surprise, Bruce from Oktoberfest was staying at the same hostel as me which meant we had to catch up for beers! Today I awoke without an absinthe hangover, which is the best feeling in the world! I made it out of bed for breakfast too which was cool, it's always nice to eat the free breakfast even if it is just corn flakes. My mission for the day was to see Prague Castle and after a nice steep trek to get there I made it just in time for the changing of the guard which consisted of lots of marching soldiers and music. So being in a city that I didn't know, feeling like I should have died the night before, I decided to get out and about. Mustering up all my strength I forced myself to get out of bed and put some clothes on, if Prague wasn't so cold I would have just gone around in my jocks cos I just couldn't be stuffed. It took some time to find the hostel but after that ordeal I met some lovely Americans and we went out for a night on the town, and what a night it was. After playing drinking games at the hostel some of us decided to try out the local bars and boy were they happening on a Wednesday night! There was us and then there was us... I don't think I mentioned this place in any of my emails, probably because my brain was fried. Anyway, its a pretty cool little place some of the buildings date back to around 960 a.c. The place was rather prosperous due to it being a free imperial city but there was a war that nearly destroyed the town but was stopped when ex-mayor Georg Nusch drank 3.25Lt of wine in a single scull. The long journey to Neuschwanstein Castle was interesting as I was forced to listen to Eurovision CD's that everyone really enjoyed singing to and I saw a cow with a bell. The castle was built for King Ludwig II, who was a very strange man with a swan fetish. Unfortunately we missed the early tours through the castle so made do with the view from a nearby bridge and a stroll though the courtyard. That was pretty worth while as I got some great photos and it means I'll have to make a trip back some day to see the interior. [View Full Entry]

I wasn't in Stuttgart very long before I was being driven away from it by my unlce to a little uni town called Tubingen. It was all good by me though as I didn't have to think about how to get there or what to go and see when we got there.
