There are this places that we love to come back...and come back...I name cities like San Francisco, London, and obvioulsy high on everybody list, New York. So as my connections back home were not obvious...and I needed those qualifying miles to keep that frequent flyer card which gives you access to the lounges and not many questions asked about too many kilos in your bags....I simply did a little by-pass trip to the Big Apple, landing at 8am, leaving at 10pm. Bear in mind, this was after two nights spent in planes....so I had to make sure I could survive the day. I have to admit, I'm not 20 years old anymore...but I can still manage few funny trips. After this, the people of "Amazing Race" may look like pure amateurs... Original plan was to go ... read more

That's what I call a very long Sunday...very long... I spent the last two weeks running all over Asia with stops in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Saigon and Bangkok. And if you are asking, yes it was business oriented...and indeed, I don't blog on those days...I had a lot of meetings...saw many friends...had way too many lunches and dinners....and after dinner parties...and did the full shopping list to bring back to home. Left home with a bag of 20kg, coming back with double that amount...you find a lot in Argentina....but there are way too many things we simply don't find in Buenos Aires! I'm not a big fan of sitting on planes for 28 hours in a row..or more...did it, will do it again next April...but not this time. Today, I'm on for another "fun" marathon. It's ... read more

Commuting from home to my office is just a 13,000 miles away, or something like 26 hours on a plane. The good news, during our year in Buenos Aires, I will not have to do it too often. Buenos Aires to Hong Kong....could be done going through South Africa, Sydney/Auckland, Europe...or the States...and lately, even through Dubai or Doha! It's simply just the other side of earth! The cheapest option is via the States, so here I am in San Francisco for a 15 hours lay-over. I love San Francisco...and I know I'm not the only one. I know, this is alreay my third blog on the city over the last 5 years! Over the last ten years, it's actually closer to my tenth visit...and each and every single time, I try to find something new ... read more

Time flies at a speed I couldn't even imagine once we arrived in Buenos aires in July. Imagine, next week it will be already three months that we arrived. For those who are wondering, we already have our flights to leave the country end of June 2013. We love Argentina, but for multiple reasons....the current economic climate being one of them, I don't see myself settling here for the long term. Once we leave, I will do a full blog about the pros and cons of living in Argentina, and trust me, there is a lot to write about, but now is not the time to do it. We are very well settled in our little flat, ready for the swimming pool to open with the warmer days coming pretty soon. The climate here is actually ... read more

The least I can say is this week-end was simply amazing...impressive....well, whichever superlative words we may use. Before starting, let me make two comments....polo can actually be cheaper than skiing or diving....and you don't need to have any previous horseriding experience to give a try to polo. Will develop those further for the "non-believers"! I've got some experience when it comes to polo, and actually close to none when it comes to horseriding. I did ride a horse once 6 years ago...it was a 30 minutes ride in the sand dunes of Dubai at sunset. A moment I will remember, but not specially for the riding itself. This was it, 30 minutes on a horse...in the sand. My experience of polo is a little more diversified. I was lucky to attend the final of the National ... read more

This is the first of a serie of three blogs coming in the next few days. If you are wondering, yes, we are having an amazing time...in Buenos Aires...around Buenos Aires...and actually all over Argentina! Argentina is not a gem, it's a mine of gems...left, right, up...down, everywhere we are digging for our adventures, it's all...simply brillant, simply amazing! The week-end is over...I'm slowly going through the pictures....and these souvenirs will stay forever...trust me...next is way better....but for now, we give you San Antonio de Areco. To make it easy I rented a car for the week-end starting Friday just after lunch. First surprise, we landed a 4 categories upgrade. It first didn't make me happy, but we had no choice, they had nothing else available. I tend to love to stay below the radar in ... read more

Some blogs do not need any text, and this is one of them, the pictures should be more than enough to tell the story...even with less than average pictures.... But than, it would be only half of the story and some words still need to be written. So first thing first, one more time, I would like to thank my friends Mercredes and Sergi from Koh Lipe who told me "you've got to go there!". Even with those infos, I did few mistakes...first...Puerto Madryn is not into the Peninsula Valdes, Puerto Piramides is IN the Peninsula Valdes...small issue, there is 100km between the two small cities. You can dive out of Puerto Madryn...but I did dive out of Puerto Piramides. Second fun story...Mercredes told me, you've got to dive with Captain Pinino...she is right...but after blogging, ... read more

It's already time for Tiffany and Leslie first week of school holidays in Argentina...and as the country is so impressive...we are starting slowly to push our discoveries a little further than Buenos Aires. As you are aware, I spent my last two weeks working in Africa. Leslie and Tiffany have been under the great care of Ines while I was away, and she is also joining us for our discoveries of Argentina now that I'm back "home". I have also to thank Mercredes and Sergi from Koh Lipe who introduced me few months ago to Puerto Madryn and Peninsula Valdes. Thanks guys, missing you! Due to the amount of pictures...and experiences we have lived over the last few days, I've decided to do two blogs, one of Puerto Madryn, and yes...one more impressive of the Peninsula ... read more

It's not everyday that I found the possibility...and the time to take some pictures in Congo, so here is a little entry. I have to admit it, these pictures are actually less than impressive. They have changed the law few months ago, to actually allow taking pictures in the street...but it's still not a great idea to try your luck at it. I've spent the last two weeks between Kinshasa and Lubumbashi, the two biggest cities of RDC. And as internet is so slow in the country, I'm actually uploading my pictures in between two airports on my way home...in Johannesburg and Sao Paolo...it's a small world! I've reached a pretty interesting point in my life...when it comes to people asking me...."Where are you from?" Well, I have a European passport, and I grew up in ... read more

It was last Saturday...and we've done so many thing since that week-end...I thing this kind of comment can summarize properly our new lifestyle in Argentina... So we made it easy on the 2 hours and half to Montevideo on the Saturday afternoon. The bus ride is smooth, and the scenery is looking pretty much like any country side scenery in Luxembourg where I grew up...just with a pretty low density of population. For two days in Uruguay, we took boats...we took the bus ride between Colonia and Montevideo...and we walked...a lot... I never actually went to Montevideo! I went 6 years ago for Christmas to Punta del Este...landed in Montevideo airport, rented a car and drove to Punta del Este....bear in mind, I wasn't very impressed by the place...it has the reputation to be a hip ... read more
