Having been a passenger for several years, I have now decided I want to be in the drivers seat of my own Harley. I do miss being the passenger, as I love taking pictures from the back of my hubby's bike. Most of my blogs will be Bike runs or short weekend trips. Hopefully I will be able to include a few longer trips. Not all my trips will be on a bike, but most. I hope you join me and enjoy the ride.

We head home today. If you look at the 1st picture you will see that the morning did not dawn with sunshine. Cloudy, and pretty sure it is going to rain on us. Since the weather looks bad we decide to get going right away and find breakfast on the way. From Mobridge we head east on 12 to Hwy 83. Turn north on 83 to take us into ND. It's not raining yet, but doesn't look good. We come into Herrod SD and I now have to drive in the worst road contruction I can imagine. It was slimy, mud holes, just plain YUK. We get to a flag guy and tells us to turn off through town, head north and then turn back east then we can get back on 83. The street in ... read more

Today is our last morning here. I didn't sleep much at all. Did I tell anyone I don't like camping? We go into have breakfast. They have eggs made to order, pancakes, fruit, coffee. Not too bad. We pack up our bikes and it is time to leave. I want to stop to get a pair of boots I was trying on before we leave. Now I have to ride a little more in Sturgis. We head downtown get the boots and then on our way. We decide the route home will be through Newell, up to Reva, go into ND and ride the Enchanted Highway and see how far we get. We take the Interstate leaving Sturgis then head to Newell. We stop for gas, have a pop and snack. Back on the road again. ... read more

I'm so sad we have to leave the Bed and Breakfast this morning. It was foggy this morning when we got up, but I'm sure it will clear off before too long. We head down for breakfast. Again, fantastic. Today we had: egg bake, rhubarb bread, coffee cake, fresh fruit, coffee, juice. Helen is so nice and you feel so welcome. The couple from WA will be leaving today. The couple from WY will be meeting up with some more friends and spend a little more time. On our agenda today is Sturgis. By the time we head out the fog has cleared up. We take the frontage road pretty much all the way to Spearfish. We jump on the Interstate there and pull into Wal-mart. Steve had stopped and ordered DVD's of his Beartooth videos. ... read more

Today is the big day in Hulett. PANTYLESS WEDNESDAY. And also a big day in Sundance. BURNOUT CONTEST AND WET T-SHIRT CONTEST. Let me tell you this bed and breakfast thing is the way to go. Check out the Sunrise outside our cabin. We headed to the main house about 7:45. Breakfast was: breakfast burittos, fresh fruit, coffee, juice. Awsome. What will it be tomorrow? The other two couples were really nice. One couple was from Puget Sound WA and the other from WY. We decide to get an early start for Hulett as it is usually pretty busy. There are quite a few bikes traveling on the hwy. I'm glad I'm a passenger. We pull into Hulett, the main street is already full, we park on the street just before you head out of town. ... read more

Today we are heading to Sundance WY. The AmericInn has a great continental breakfast so we go down to that. We pull into the gas station right by the hotel to fill up and then we will be on our way. My gosh there are alot of bikes. The day is sunny, beautiful weather. We take Hwy 24 west to Aladdin, turn on Hwy 111 south to the frontage road that heads into Sundance. We have reservations at the Sundance Mountain Hideaway Bed and Breakfast. I've never stayed at a bed and breakfast, I'm so excited. Opps, I didnt bring the directions to get there. We turned at the right stop sign and then went too far on the hwy. We had to call, turn around but then found our way. The road up to it ... read more

We are joining back up with the guys today. We plan to meet in Newell. We pull in and of course Connie heads for The Newell Bar. Del and Steve should be there. They are not. Oh well, we'll go in anyway. Pretty cool old bar, check out the picture. They will show up pretty soon. I give Del a call and they are at the gas station. Here they are, back together again. We have a beer and then head to Belle Fourche for lunch and to check into the motel. Ok, so my first time riding in the Black Hills area begins. We find Bob's Cafe in Belle Fourche. It's small and quite old. Just after we sit down and order they lock the door, so we are about the only ones in there. ... read more

We are off on another day's adventure. Connie and I take our time getting up and ready. After all we are on vacation. The day looks a little gloomy, but the temp is OK. We gas up in Linton and head for Hwy1804 taking us into Mobridge SD. We do get sprinkled on a little but not enough for rain gear. As we come into Mobridge it is lunch time and today we are going to stop to eat. We head to the Grand Oasis Restraunt, we've eaten there before and we know it is good. After eating we decide to drive around town and take the street that runs along the river. Nice View. The temp is warming up and we need something cold to drink. The American Legion appears to be open, so we ... read more

Today it is the girls turn to leave. Connie gets to my house about 10AM and we are on our way. The day is sunny and dry. The temp is a little cool, but that is OK. Our route of course begins on County Rd 17 South to Hwy 46, and we are on our way west. Enderlin, hmm, sounds like a good place to stop. We choose The Friendly Bar. Of course, since it is before noon we are the only ones in the bar. The bartender/owner is very friendly and we visit for awhile. Back on the bikes and venture all the way to Fort Ransom for lunch. Not too many places to pick from here so we head into Thor's Bar and Grill. A few more people here. Again we visit with locals. ... read more

Our summer vacation begins a little different this year. The guys will be taking off first heading through Montana, across Bear Tooth Highway, back across Wyoming meeting us in Montana. Connie and I will be taking the "slow" road through North Dakota, South Dakota and then meet up with Steve and Del in Montana. So today begins with Del leaving at 6:45am to meet up with Steve and Mark in Casselton for breakfast. The morning is kind of cloudy and looks like it could be rainy. I'm spending my picking up the house, washing clothes and packing. Connie and I meet at TGIF for drinks and appetizers. We make our plan to leave tomorrow and head home. Del called after I got home. They are in Glendive MT. They rode in some rain today. Their lunch ... read more

Day 4 - Well, today we need to head back home. Our choices to cross the Missouri River are either Bismarck ND or Mobridge SD. We decide to go through Mobridge. That means I have about 130 miles to prepare myself for crossing the bridge. In case you don't know, I am terribly afraid of bridges. But I'm sure I will make it. As I see the bridge come in to view I start taking deep breaths and telling myself I can do this. If not me, there is no one else to get my bike over to the east side. As I am crossing the bridge I keep my eyes focused on the other side and DO NOT check out the water below. Whew, I made it. Victory for me. We need to make a ... read more
