We are joining back up with the guys today. We plan to meet in Newell. We pull in and of course Connie heads for The Newell Bar. Del and Steve should be there. They are not. Oh well, we'll go in anyway. Pretty cool old bar, check out the picture. They will show up pretty soon. I give Del a call and they are at the gas station. Here they are, back together again. We have a beer and then head to Belle Fourche for lunch and to check into the motel.
Ok, so my first time riding in the Black Hills area begins. We find Bob's Cafe in Belle Fourche. It's small and quite old. Just after we sit down and order they lock the door, so we are about the only ones in there. As in most small, old cafes the food is pretty good. Now it is on to the motel. The AmericInn is our resting spot for tonight. Wow, are there alot of bikes in this little town. We check in to the motel and unload the bikes. It is still early so we are going to go for a ride. I plan to ride with
Del. Too much traffic for me. Plus I can take pictures.
We leave and head for Alzada MT. We head NW on Hwy 212. The wind is crazy on the way to Alzada. It apprears that about the only thing there is the Stoneville Saloon. It seems to be a popular stopping spot for bikers. It's fun to sit out front and just bike watch. We leave and find Hwy 112 which will take us to Hulett WY. This is a really nice ride, but I'm glad I didn't drive. I'm not use to the curves yet and I go alot slower that everyone else.
In Hulett we go into the Ponderosa Bar and then walk around a little. Not much happening in Hulett today. As we are getting ready to leave Steve notices the local cop followed us from the bar to our bikes. So we just sit and relax a bit. We are in no hurry. We take Hwy 24 east out of Hulett, next stop Aladdin, Pop. 15. We get to Aladdin and it is closed for the day. Aladdin is a "town" where the gas station, bar, store are all in one. And I
think also the only thing there. Ok, so we will come back Wednesday.
Along Hwy 24 there is The Stone House. A cool place turned into a bar. You can go in and sign the walls, it looks like they will have a band later. I guess you can turn anything into a bar.
Ok so we haven't eaten in awhile so the plan is to find a place in Belle Fourche. Just as we get to the stop light we see the Belle Inn. I guess that will be it. Pretty good food.
We head to the motel. Steve hooks up is video from riding Beartooth and we watch that. Now the party animals have to turn in.
