We are off on another day's adventure. Connie and I take our time getting up and ready. After all we are on vacation. The day looks a little gloomy, but the temp is OK. We gas up in Linton and head for Hwy1804 taking us into Mobridge SD. We do get sprinkled on a little but not enough for rain gear. As we come into Mobridge it is lunch time and today we are going to stop to eat. We head to the Grand Oasis Restraunt, we've eaten there before and we know it is good. After eating we decide to drive around town and take the street that runs along the river. Nice View. The temp is warming up and we need something cold to drink.
The American Legion appears to be open, so we just gotta stop. Once again nice locals. When we told them we were heading to Gettysburg SD for the night they wondered why we would take that route. The gal bartending said that Faith SD had a really nice motel. One of the guys in the bar looked the phone number up on his Blackberry, we called, they had a room. We called Gettysburg
and cancelled. People are so nice if you just take the time to visit.
So, back on the road. We have to cross the bridge in Mobridge. I just take a deep breath and focus on the road ahead. From Mobridge we take Hwy 20 west. We were told Isabel would be a good place to stop. They are suppose to be having some type of festival. As we pull in we see the Cafe/Bar, it doesn't apprear to have a name. But it is warm out and we need to take a break. The town is pretty quiet, a festival?? We don't see any signs of that. Visiting with the bartender we find out that the rodeo would be in the evening, so that is why town is quiet. Plus it is Sunday. They usually are not open. After a short stop we are on our way again. We are looking for Hwy 65 which will take us south to Hwy 212. Gas stop will be Dupree. There is not much along this route, but it is different and the scenery is not bad.
They were right, the Prarie Vista Motel in Faith is nice. Where is
the bar/grill in town? What nothing open on Sunday? There is Linda's Drive-In across the street so I guess it will be there for supper. After we unload the bikes, get our boots off, comb our hair and all the other fun stuff we head across the street. Popcorn Chicken, Onion Rings, Corn Dog -- supper for champions. We take the food back to our rooms, eat in bed and relax for the night.
Del calls and they are in Sturgis! They checked into the Nursing Home Turned Camp Ground. Del says its nice. What are they going to do tonight. Probably head downtown, get some beer and hang around the camp. We make a plan to meet in Newell SD tomorrow.
