Georgie booked us a car to take us to the floating market in Damnoen Saduak. We drove out of the city for about an hour passing salt farms with bags of salt piled by their gates. As we drove further from Bangkok the vegetation was more jungle like. This was to be a totally different experience from when I was here with Chrissie. We opted for the two hour long tail boat ride and sped through green vegetation of the klongs until we came to the market. It was total grid lock with tourist boats and market boats, some piled high with fruit, some with cooking pots steaming away with, no doubt, tasty food. We "conveniently" got stuck, several times, next to boats selling souvenirs and the children bought some odds and bobs. I’m pleased to say that the venders were very sweet and not at all pushy which was a pleasant surprise. It was so much busier than last time until we sped off again through the klongs with jungle all around. We saw several monitor lizards again and stopped off at a temple where Sam rang all the bells. We had a really nice time.

On the way back to Bangkok we stopped for lunch then went back to the hotel for a swim. We just chilled for the rest of the day.
We have been so lucky not to see any rain but Georgie was in the roof bar in the evening and watched a monsoon approach and it absolutely poured. He went out on the town with a rather beautiful blond girl who was there studying Thai boxing.
