We woke up this morning rearing to go, albeit slightly hungover after a very social evening! We got into our riding kit and loaded the bike, I jumped up onto my perch and Trev turned the key to the bike and it turned over but wouldn't start! Trev tried it again and then it wouldn't even turn over. We were upset and perplexed as to why it had run so excellently the previous day and then just wouldn't start. Anyhow, we loaded the bike onto the back of the chase truck and jumped in for the drive back to Fairbanks with the hope of having it diagnosed and repaired at The Outpost (a BMW dealership in Fairbanks). We went there first thing the following day and naturally they were VERY busy and could "maybe fit us in tomorrow". Time being of the essence, Trev took it to Thunder Road (a bike repair shop) who gave Trev the use of their workshop and tools for the day which was incredibly decent of them! Turns out we had put dirty fuel in the bike at some point so it's running well again now.
More bad luck though, I had left my bag
Rosco, Jerry, Trev, Lawrence and Bart
Jerry and Bart from Thunder Road workshop in Fairbanks containing our passports and my purse in it up at Deadhorse. We were so impressed that someone picked it up and handed it to someone to bring it down to Fairbanks on the next flight. We picked it up at the appointed time and place only to find all my US$ gone (they didn't want the CAN or NZ$). I guess we're lucky they didn't just take what they wanted and bin our passports etc.
So I have just used today to catch up on the laundry. Some of you will be interested to know that it cost $3 to wash a large load and $3 to dry it also ?
A much cooler day here today but I expect it will get warmer as we travel back South.

Sorry to hear about both the bike no-go and the wallet. At least the bike is on the road and you have your PASSPORTS. Best of luck with insurance! and enjoy the rest of the trip. Our posts are Goldsack - travelpod.com, email dsack2012@gmail.com.
