Spain definitely surpassed all my expectations. Every city I visited (Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Toledo, and Madrid) was beautiful. The architecture was grand, the streets were tidy, the people were joyful, and the FOOD was delicious!
Seville was my favourite. That may have had something to do with having Scott, Anne, and Lauren there, but I did like the city regardless. It was vibrant day and night, had very beautiful sights, and the people dressed so nicely.
Barcelona was a lot of fun, more so because of the people I met and shared it with. The night life was awesome and I really enjoyed the Gaudi architecture, especially Sagrada Familia Basilica which has the most stunning church interior I have ever seen.
A major highlight of Spain overall was the food. I would travel back in a heart beat solely for the food! Not only did I love the idea of tapas, I loved the markets with mountains of fresh fruit and vegetables, seafood, olives, cheese and JAMON - Iberian ham hanging from the ceiling of all the meat stalls. And it all taste so delicious! Then to top it off - Sangria and Mojitos!
