Pikes market place Well...they say all good things come to an end...so it is with our vacation!
Flight from San Francicso went well..we were flying with Alaska Airlines but when we got to the counter we were told we had to fly with Delta airlines....no idea why this happened but we were a little annoyed as we had worked out the baggage charges - $175 for the 5 checked bags for the domestic leg of this journey.
Anyway it all worked fine as when we got to Delta they said that as they are partners with V Australia we would not be charged baggage for the domestic leg and te luggage could go straight through from San Francisco to our final destination of Brisbane Australia. We were charged $125 for the 5th bag (that being the only bag over our allowance). So we are happy with that.
If we had flown with Alaska airlines it would have cost us the $175 then we would have had to collect the luggage at LAX - check it in again with V Australia and paid another $150 for excessive baggage.
The flight was just over 1 hour long and I must add that
Seattle waterfront Delta airlines was far superior to fly with than United Airlines. Picked up duty free alcohol allowance from LAX - the store was extremely small at Terminal 3 but the alcohol was cheaper cheer than it would have been at Brisbane international.
The wait for our flight from LAX to Brisbane seemed such a long wait...here we were sitting on the floor charging our mobile devices as the place was packed. The day before there glad been a shooting at Terminal 3 so flights were cancelled - today was catch up day - plenty of people sleeping on the airport floor!
