Geoff and I love to travel...we also love to share our travel with anyone who is interested!!! We have extensively travelled throughout North America over the past few years and have loved every minute of it!
In 3 months time Geoff and I will be heading over to North America for another epic adventure. Starting in LA we will be travelling up to Oregon to spend a week discovering the nature in this beautiful state before heading up to Seattle for a few days. From there we are off to Alberta Canada where we will be touring the amazing Rocky Mountains and Yellowstone National Park on a Harley Davidson Trike for the entire month of July. Then its over to the east coast of USA for 6 days in Boston and then a cruise on the magnificent Holland America cruise ship Veendam. A week of touring the east coast of Canada is just what is needed after a month on the trike. Next up we fly back to the west coast of Canada for some quality time in the magnificent city of Vancouver before taking a one way cruise on Celebrity's Millennium cruise ship. In Alaska we are hiring a RV and then heading inland in search of more amazing scenery and wildlife before heading back to our homeland of Australia in September. Feel free to follow us on this exciting adventure. As usual we plan on keeping an extensive blog to share with our friends and family.

As the ship pulled into Cape Liberty we overheard a young girl saying "you can smell the dirty of New York City" and she was very right...but there is something special about this city that brings us back here time and time again. The people, the places, the stories, the sights and the lives of New Yorkers make this a place that million of tourists flock to every year. You can't help but wonder as you watch the New Yorkers on the trains - what it must be like to live and work in this concrete jungle - where space is strictly limited and patches of grass, trees and gardens are only to be found at big parks - Central Park and the likes. Imagine raising a family, or even having a large dog here when ... read more

Oceans and Seas » Caribbean October 22nd 2015

I'm going to start this blog with some information about our home for the next 10 days. The information is copied from Wikipedia : MS Liberty of the Seas is a Royal Caribbean International Freedom classcruise ship which entered regular service in May 2007. It was initially announced that she would be called Endeavour of the Seas, however this name was later changed. The 15-deck ship accommodates 3,634 passenge... read more

Our Virgin Australia flight to LAX went smoothly. We have flown with several airlines to the USA and VA wins hands down. It may be the cheaper version of Qantas but we feel we certainly get more bang for our Buck with VA. The food is always good with these guys - generous servings, hot and tasty. Just what you need on that long haul flight. Flying economy is always economy but we have found VA to be way more comfortable than their big brother Qantas. During the flight to Los Angeles I watched the sunset at 30,000 feet. That was so cool - nothing but ocean below us. Got me thinking how big this amazing world is that we live in - how lucky we are to have the technology to travel from one continent ... read more

North America » United States » Florida » Orlando February 6th 2015

Well I'm finally here writing my blog about Orlando...we have been so busy since arriving here it's been impossible to try and blog. So I'll make a start now while I'm sitting waiting for my laundry to finish. We arrived in Orlando 23 January - staying in the Disney Fort Wilderness campgrounds. As you can imagine this was no small campground - in fact the campground is larger than Central Park NYC. We were originally booked in to stay until the 2 February but ended up extending that by 1 day - checking out on 3 February. It was a great choice to stay here in the RV ($75 per night). Our campsite Had power, water and was sewered. The comfort station (showers and toilets) were just one minutes walk away from our site. The bathrooms ... read more

Today was a bit of a slow one.... Took a leisurely drive back to Peterson's Harley Davidson shop which was about an hours ride away from Key Largo. We enjoyed the ride and reluctantly handed back the keys and said a sad goodbye to the Road Glide - till next time. It was lunch time by the time we were finished at the dealership - next up we had some last minute cruise shopping which needed to be completed today. Both of us had to find good shoes to wear on the formal nights. We had previously purchased our fancy clothing for the formal nights back in Fort Lauderdale but haven't had time to search for shoes. Well it's never easy when you have so much choice. The shopping took a little longer than we intended ... read more

Our planned ride to Key West went ahead although early morning weather didn't look so promising. The ride out to Key West was a rather cold one - skies were overcast and we just kept hoping that the rain would stay away. Despite being cold the ride was amazing. It's a bucket list trip and it didn't let us down. Driving through so many keys with so many bridges with never ending views of ocean was simply gorgeous. We crossed The Seven Mile Bridge which is a famous bridge in the Florida Keys. It connects Knight's Key (part of the city of Marathon, Florida) in the Middle Keys to Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys. Seven Mile Bridge was among the longest bridges in the world when it was built and it is one of ... read more

Well today was a special day - picking up our Harley Davidson rental from Peterson's South Harley Deslership. This is a big store but not nearly as great as we expected. Have to say Our dealership in Brisbane Australia still wins hands down when it comes to customer service. For the next two days we will ride around on a 2015 road glide special. Cost was $404 for the bike hire which includes full insurance ( mad if you don't take it). The bike is super with all the bells and whistles - such a great way to discover the Keys. Geoff handled the bike like a pro and the pillion seat was real comfy for me! Geoff was also talking to one of the sales guys about the new Ultra Limited Low. He said they ... read more

Today we move from our "home Sweet Home" down to Key Largo. It's been a great stay here in Hollywood and I wouldnt hesitate to recommend this place to anyone - price, location, safety, comfort - it has it all. Packed and left by 9am. We headed down to Miami but this time we took the US1 instead of the freeway. A much better way to drive down. It may have traffic lights but it doesn't have the traffic jams of the freeway. We made it downtown Miami much quicker travelling this route. Headed to Little Havana which is a neighbourhood of Miami. Home to many Cuban immigrant residents, as well as many residents from Central and South America. Little Havana is named after Havana, Which is the capital and largest city in Cuba. We watched ... read more
