Hi All: It's been several days since I've had time to add a blog entry...being on vacation is hard work you know. With on-line banking do I REALLY have to come home?

I have met an amazing family, Francisco who is hired to look after the property, his wife Vanessa and their son Alberto who is four years old. Francisco has been such a great help to me and without him I would not have felt so comfortable here all by myself.

Francisco, his family and I went to Puntarenas, a small fishing town about a half hour or so north and along the coast from Orotina, a small peninsula jutting out into the Pacific, where Vanessa and Alberto had to get a hair cut. Francisco and I went to a restaurant and had lunch while we waited and had cerviche - fresh fish cut in very small pieces and served in chopped onion, lime I think, cilantro - almost like an appetizer and is served with taco chips and three different types of sauces. I had assorted sea food and got shrimp, octapus, and some other kind of white fish in it.

Once the hair cuts had been looked after we all walked around the town and visited a chinese take out - yup, there's one in every town it seems around the world. We had these awesome burrito looking type things that had meat in them and were deep fried but mmmm they were nummy.

Then we went to the fish market which was very interesting. I bought some fresh tuna, which I've never had. Tuna is quite a dense fish and I pan fried it with lime juice. The market itself was great to visit because Francisco could translate for me. I've got a picture of a swordfish once they had cut it into large pieces. Hopefully I will get my pictures on today or tomorrow. There were MANY vultures there - they are SO incredibly ugly but of course worthy of picture!

They have hang gliding in a small town just out of Puntarenas and I would like to try this before I leave. My insurance is all paid up although I'm not sure it covers me for this crazy sport. You fly tandum with a professional flyer so how dangerous can it be????

I always welcome news from home so feel free to send me a note.

Fay
